1957 Thunderbird - Nice Rust-Free Body
1957 Ford Thunderbird
1957 Thunderbird - Has been in the extended family since 1975. Purchased from California in 1975, and has had one repaint in the early 80s. Nice rust free body (including the underbody - see pictures). Car has never been taken apart for a restoration. It has the 312-4v engine and an automatic transmission. It also has Power Steering, manual drum brakes and AM Radio. It has both tops (hardtop and convertible top (white in color). Exterior chrome looks nice all the way around. Paint still looks really nice for older paint (painted in mid-80s), but does have some discoloring on the nose area (compared to the hood) and some old body work around the inside of the upper fenders (see pictures). Lower body looks great as well as the wheel skirts etc. Interior chrome needs to be cleaned up with some steel wool. Interior upholstery looks nice but is not new. Lights work on the exterior and interior. Speedometer works, Generator and temperature gauges work. Fuel gauge works but is not accurate all the time (not sure why). I just drove it 80 miles a couple weeks ago and it drives nice and straight and shifts fine. I did notice an oil leak, which I think is the rear main seal. The rest of the suspension is older, but all works well. Selling this for a relative that passed away earlier this year.
