Description:

1977 Ford F-100 Custom

Manual brakes (factory disc front, drum rear).Manual steering (super straight, no slop).Manual windows.Non-A/C.Even with its cigarette lighter delete, this was and is a truly basic F-100.Purchased originally at Lum's Ford in Midland, NC and onto the road on March 3, 1977, this solid and rust-free truck has never left the State of North Carolina. With just 2 owners over its original 48 years - and me buying from the granddaughter of the 2nd owner, this low mileage example was clearly stored out of the weather and cared for. Scratch lines on the tailgate tell me this likely had a canopy as well for the bed to be this free of dents and rust.Strong 300ci - 1bbl was rebuilt in ~2021 by the second owner along with new clutch. Rear end (code 47 on tag) is a non-locking 3.07 ratio and makes this comfortable at 55-60 mph. New ww tires in March 2024 (~500 miles on them). The paint (and patina) is original with the exception of three areas: the wheels have been resprayed in semi-gloss silver; the bed interior was sanded, primed and finished in a single-stage acrylic urethanes, overlapping to the upper third of the tailgate. Sherwin-Williams professional automotive finishes were used. The previous owner had the rear left bed panel spray at some point (with clear) but that's it. The rest of the paint is from the Norfolk Ford plant - and the frame, cab, bed are all rust-free.Interior is really nice: original headliner and rubber floor mat. Bench upholstery was replaced at some point. Only changes I made: new dash pad, new Dennis Carpenter steering wheel, removed a non-factory cassette player/radio and created a delete panel from ABS. I have the factory antenna if you need it, and have kept all parts removed, including the old wheel. All lights/bulbs refreshed, instrument panel works 100%, no issues. The hazard lamps and turn signals all work fine, but I have a replacement signal switch as the old canceling dogs became frail and broke with age. Not unusual at all. Same thing with horn - I've simply created a remote button in a new escutcheon where the lighter delete was. Factory relay and (single!) horn blow nice and loud.Comes with a custom sun shield (park outside my home, facing west) to protect your new dash pad and new steering wheel. Also have a 4'x8' vinyl mat and tailgate mat to haul long items with. Anytime I've hauled mulch or bricks or lumber for home projects, it's been nice to keep the bed clean. No issues with the old master cylinder, but I bought a new Raybestos unit just in case that comes with the truck.ALL ORIGINAL paperwork, including bills of sale and the Certicard.Daily driver, registered and titled in my name.
