1957 Ford Thunderbird

This 1957 Ford Thunderbird was modified in with a 302-crate engine from Ford Performance, which is linked to a Ford AOD 4-speed with overdrive automatic transmission and a new differential with 3:89 gears. The car is finished in Wimbledon White with a black canvas soft top and a white fiberglass hardtop with porthole windows.

The car comes with 17x8 American Racing wheels that wear General G-Max 245/45 ZR 17 radial tires installed April 2020, power front disk brakes, Edelbrock IAS shock absorbers and front & rear sway bars, a Grant banjo steering wheel, power windows, and Classic Auto air conditioning. The seller has owned the car for 31 years. This modified Thunderbird is now offered in Oregon with a clean Oregon title.

Documentation includes all maintenance, restoration, and modification invoices, ’57 sales brochure, driver’s manual, shop manual, and original window sticker.

The bench seat is upholstered in black leather and is accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Power windows and a Ford Town & Country radio are present, and a Classic Auto air conditioning system have been installed.

Restoration included all mechanical components rebuilt or replaced with new parts, all electrical components work correctly including lights, turn signals, wipers, horn, and gauges, the original AM radio was rebuilt and works, all suspension components rebuilt and/or replaced, all new wiring, the interior was completely restored with new aluminum, dash cover, door panels and carpet, the seat was upholstered in leather, completely rebuilt top bows with new canvas convertible top, all the chrome was replaced or re-chromed, entire car was Media blasted and painted with base coat, clear coat and an Optima battery relocated to the trunk.

The 5.0-liter Ford performance V8 is a crate motor that has a hydraulic roller camshaft (.480" lift intake and exhaust, duration at .050" is 224 degrees intake and exhaust – great idle lope!), Ford Racing aluminum GT-40 cylinder heads, Edelbrock dual quad manifold with Edelbrock 4-barrel Performer Series carburetors, ZOOPS serpentine belt & pulley system, MSD Pro-Billet ignition system, Sanderson Headers, dual exhaust with Delta 50 Series mufflers. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a Ford AOD 4-speed with overdrive automatic transmission and a new differential with 3:89 gears.

All service records plus restoration and modification details and invoices are included in two binders.
