Description:

1988 Ford F-150

This is a solid, nice looking driver-quality rear wheel drive F-150 long bed we acquired from a friend who inherited it from his father-in-law. We don't know much about it other than that the previous owner restored it before his passing, installing a 351 Windsor V-8 crate motor and an automatic with an in-line floor shifter. Apparently the elderly gentleman didn't get to drive it very long before his passing, so my guess is that the motor has pretty low mileage. All of the gauges were updated when the truck was re-done, so true mileage is unknown. The title shows 187,000 miles. It was stored in a Florida warehouse for a few years and wasn't running when we got it. We changed the battery cable, installed a new battery, replaced the fuel tank, pick up, fuel filters and some lines, and did a few small cosmetic repairs. With a fresh battery and fresh fuel, it runs and drives pretty well for a 36 year old truck. It sounds mean, looks tough and gets a lot of thumbs up going down the road. The gray interior is very clean for an old truck. From 20 feet, the black exterior finish looks great and the body is straight. Up close, the truck has some minor blemishes, scratches and dings that I have tried to show in the photos. The truck spent time up north and had some minor rust repair in the past, but it looks pretty decent underneath. The bed has the scratches and dents you'd expect from an old truck, and the OEM antenna was snapped off at some point. It has an excellent set of Mickey Thompson wheels that look like they were put on last week (the key socket is in the glove box). The tires are older but have very little wear. The AC blows but is not cold and it has an older after market Kenwood radio and CD player. I have ordered a replacement and will install or include it.I had planned to use this for a work truck, but have too many vehicles and this one is too nice to beat up, so am listing it for another collector to drive and enjoy.Feel free to contact me with questions (I'll answer them as best I can).Auction Terms: $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction end. Full payment within 10 days. I can coordinate with your shipper and will store the truck up to three weeks, after which it will be $10 per day for additional storage.
