Camper Special, 360 AT, great mechanical & physical. Ready to drive it home!
1969 Ford F-250
RELISTING: Winning out-of-state bidder stopped communicating and didn't pay - never saw the vehicle. REDUCED RESERVE - let's get it done this round!Happy to provide more pictures, answer any questions, etc.
This truck was purchased new Nov. 6, 1968 by David Privratsky, from Nissen Ford in Albany, Oregon. When he passed away, I acquired the truck from his daughter Darlene in March 2021 (via eBay!) and had it shipped to me in Florida.Hard to let go of this beauty, but she's growing older and deserves better than I can give her right now.She is currently stored under cover.
Excellent mechanical condition, some rusting on hood and doors (details in photos and below) but overall very good physical condition for her age. I've owned this truck for 3 years now, and I would absolutely feel comfortable getting in it and driving anywhere in the country tomorrow. Just have some life changes happening and need to let her go.
She fires right up first try, sounds real tough, looks real cool, and is ready to do whatever the heck you want to do.

Itook her for a full checkup from our local specialists as soon as she arrived. Received a clean bill of health except a couple minor maintenance items to be expected:
1. New battery
2. New exhaust manifold gaskets
3. Replaced radius arm bushings
4. Replaced power steering and alternator/fan belt
5. Full tune up including plugs, wires, filters, and fluids.
I then installed a Pertronix electronic ignition to eliminate points, and dialed in the timing.
She fires right up first try, sounds real tough, looks real cool, and is ready to do whatever the heck you want to do.
Mechanical: 360 v-8, 3 speed automatic, two wheel drive, dual side pipes. A towing monster. Odometer registers ~29,000 miles and based on running condition, condition of frame and underside of the vehicle, and the fact that it doesn't leak or burn any fluids, that could be an original 29,000 miles or it could be 129,000. If the odometer has rolled, there's no way it has rolled more than once - but my sense is this is original miles.Doesn't leak or burn fluids - not oil, power steering, brake, or coolant.
Brakes are strong and firm, catch evenly and stop reliably.
Tires and wheels in excellent shape - see photos. Recent rubber, healthy and ready to roll.
The truck tracks flawlessly, doesn't have any play in the steering, and otherwise is in excellent driving condition.
Rust: The underside and the frame is quite rust free, and I tried to capture that in my photos. On the body, I have wire-brushed, cleaned, and applied a rust converter on all rusting surfaces as a temporary fix (had plans to put it in the body shop) and it hasn't really gotten any worse. The rust on hood and bottoms of doors is most serious - not real bad but details in photos. I've worked extra to stop additional rusting on the hood but there will be some work needed. Door damage is limited to doors and has not affected the rocker panels. Truck is currently parked under cover for protection. Otherwise, minor surface rusting along bed sides, and here and there. If you're into more of a vintage look, you might not address much of it at all. If you want more of a restored look, it's a pretty short distance to get paint-ready.
The original owner took great pride in this truck, and added several handy upgrades over the years in addition to the painstaking maintenance:
1. 7-pin wiring harness with Dana tow brake controller for camping (why I got her), hauling, boat trailers - if it needs pulling, her 360 can do it. Extended side mirrors for towing.
2. Electronic wiper controller with intermittent setting.
3. Cruise control - this is currently disconnected.
4. The truck has been repainted once. Originally the slightly lighter blue-green common on this vintage Ford, it's been repainted in a classic all-over blue. The cab interior was painted as well, with attention to detail.
Interior is in excellent overall shape:
Seat fabric and vinyl trim is great, and the seat is firm and supportive.
Three seatbelts present, although on one of them the Ford cap is missing from the buckle - it still functions properly.
There is a crack in the dashboard, but it's in great shape considering it's a 55 year old truck. Sun visors in good shape and retaining clips are intact.
Windows are intact and operate well, window latches, door locks and handles work well. Sliding rear window with lock. Gun/umbrella rack mounted in front of it properly, allowing easy operation.
Fan, defrost, and heat work. Windshield sprayers work. Original AM radio, never fiddled with it.
Floorboard in excellent condition, as is the floor mat. If the mat is a replacement, it must be an NOS part because the fit and look is flawless.
The horn does not work, I think it's a fuse issue. I frankly haven't driven it enough for that to be a priority - it's so eye catching everyone sees you coming.
Turn signals work, brake lights work, cab light works. All lights work on towed vehicle through harness as well. One high beam is out in the headlights but the foot-selector works as does the high-beam indicator.
Small crack in windshield on driver side. Isn't getting worse, doesn't leak, but know it's there.
It's a dual-tank setup. The filler neck to the auxiliary tank had dry-rotted, and I was concerned that water had gotten into the auxiliary tank and rusted it. I had that tank replaced with a stainless steel original-fit tank special ordered from Canada - you can still see the sticker if you look down between the bed and the cab, and you'll see that photo in the Google Drive album link above. Towards the end of that project, I lost my mechanic and have not had the filler neck reconnected. But the hard work of replacing the tank is done, if you want to wrap it up. Otherwise, drive off the 19.5 gallon primary tank like I do. Filler neck and clamps recently replaced and in good shape.
In short, this truck is great and ready to roar into the next half-century of being the coolest thing on the corner. Bid with confidence.
I have bought and sold several vehicles through eBay over the years, and am happy to help work with you on arranging delivery if you can't pick up in person. I am two blocks off a two-lane US highway in a small town (Apalachicola, Florida) and there is easy access for an 18-wheeler or any auto hauler to my house for pick-up, or to a commercial parking lot two blocks away. Alternately, I will deliver up to 100 miles for $3/mile one-way - for example, to Tallahassee or Panama City, FL - if that makes your shipping easier.
I have set the reserve at what is a conservative $6500 based on similar vehicle sales over the last 12-15 months on eBay and Bringatrailer.com. In the event we don't hit reserve, I will seriously consider offering to complete the sale to high bidder rather than relisting - she deserves to have a summer with someone to love her.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
