This is a 1987 Ford Escort XR3i RHD that was imported from England in 2012. It is super rare in the US! All parts can still be ordered from Burton Power in the UK for it, many US escort parts will fit also.

Vehicle Details

So where do we start? The car needs some love. I rebuilt the motor two years ago, and haven’t really messed with it much since-it ran great for a while when I was in Phoenix, drove it around the block a few times. But I had it in storage and taken here in Sierra Vista and it hasn’t ran right since. I have a feeling it is something to do with the fuel injection system. So, what does she need?

The gas tank needs a repair.

The body work has some rust and repairs.

It needs an air filter.

It needs the original temperature sensor.

It needs possible fuel injection work (or switch to carbs??)

The soft top is ok but not perfect

There’s a lil bit of oil leaking from the sump.

There’s probably other things I’m missing about the car.

I had to list it as a 1980 on here because the VIN was being weird.

What’s new on it? New clutch, new slightly larger pistons, rings, bearings, new water pump, new gaskets.

It would be a super cool car to drive around when it’s running! I bought an old Cadillac that has taken my attention now so I’ll never get around to fixing up the Escort. There’s only two of these in the US, that I’m aware of, both are here in Arizona. Please be aware that this car is not ready to jump in and drive. It’s got huge potential though. The values in Europe keep going up with these cars.
