Vehicle Details

Up for your consideration is a Custom 1951 Ford F5 cab on a 2002 3/4 ton 6 speed manual Cummins Ram Sport chassis. It is registered via the Cab vin. I built the truck with a classic/industrial/modern twist. It has great form with exceptional function. This truck is a beast! A total doomsday bug out vehicle!!! The engine, transmission and differentials have 160,000 miles on them. The typical Cummins from that period is known as the million mile engine. The engine has a small oil leak, pretty typical of the 2nd-Gen Cummins. The transfer case has been rebuilt with only 1500 miles on it. The bed was custom built for the truck with removable sides and incorporated radiator and cage. The use of perforated sheet steel for the bed sides, allows you to have tie off points everywhere and to reduce wind resistance. Special tie off loops are included with the truck. The bed is over 7’ long and is 4’, 2”wide. The bed also has an incorporated gooseneck hitch with side locking mechanism. The bottom side of the bed is seam sealed and painted with Pore-15 and the top side and edges are done in raptor liner. Inside the cab are low back jeep seats that are quick release removable with tilting mechanism. The cab interior is coated with Dynamat and heat/sound deadening foam. The kick panels and firewall have custom made Kydex interior panels installed with stainless steel exposed button head screws. The floor is covered with rubberized, waterproof exterior grade carpet. Behind the seats is a custom plastic battery box that contains two AGM batteries and one marine disconnect switch. All pedal assembly, steering column etc. is out of the original 2002 Dodge Ram. Behind the dash is a marine grade heater with a digital fan control, allowing you to have detailed adjustments to the speed of the blower motor and a digital display showing the speed of the fan in percent of power. All the replaced glass in the cab is factory tint. I replaced the factory vacuum actuator for the front axle lockouts with a mechanical actuator, allowing you to drive the truck in two wheel low as well as four wheel low. This is especially functional when towing and needing low end torque with additional maneuverability. There are a couple things needed to finish the interior of the cab. It needs a headliner and the panels that go behind the seats, all can be purchased aftermarket and have a pretty simple installation. The body has two dime sized rust bubbles near the marker light. The cab is in amazing condition the floors are also rust free. I was very picky when picking out a very solid donor truck. Those are the only rust spots present in the original body. I drove the original truck from Dodge Kansas to Colorado Springs. It was quite the adventure! The paint is more industrial, something I wanted so that any scratches could be touched up without concern, because this truck was meant to be used like a tool. With very little effort, one could have the truck painted to give it a show finish. All the hard custom work has been completed. The truck has 10,000 miles on the build, basically enough time to shake out all the bugs. The truck looks awesome and drives very nicely, lots of power and much more like a modern 4x4 than the original 51 ford it was. The truck is being sold AS IS. It is up to the buyer to confirm the truck is what he wants, in its present condition, before paying for it. ALL SALES ARE FiNAL. The photos of the truck are throughout the build.
