1978 Ford F-150
1978 Ford F150 Long bed
300 straight six, NP435 4 speed, 2w, 9in rear, power steering, power brakes. No A/C or many options, does have a cab light. Truck does run and drive well. Drives down the road straight and stops without issues. It has a recent oil and filter change on the engine and new oil in the transmission along with a newer battery.
This truck was purchased from the original owner, He confirmed that the truck only has 161k miles. Was used as a farm truck in the Mcminnville OR area all its life.
This truck would make a perfect start for a project, lowered with the paint buffed out, or just leave it how it is and drive it. The lights and turn signals work, wipers work, horn works, no radio, heater makes noise and there is a large hole in the heater box that needs to be fixed or replaced ( comes with a replacement heater box). The tires are old fiberglass bias ply so they will need to be replaced before doing a lot of driving. The transmission has a bit of noise in 1st, mostly due to it being straight cut gears. The engine has a slight lifter tick, probably needs some adjustment on the rockers. The tailgate needs the latched straightened/ fixed on the passenger side. It had a hay bale dropped on it and does not close right.
The truck has plenty of patina/surface rust but no major rust issues/ cancer on the exterior of the body. The bed has heavy surface rust from the bed liner but the only cancer that I can see is in the front seam, there are a few pin holes in the rear ( it looks solid from the under side), also a bad spot behind the passenger fender hump. The floorboards have some cancer near the corner next to the transmission tunnel.
Overall a good solid start for a truck that needs a little bit of work.
