This a beautiful example of 1, of only 326, 1971 Mustang 429 Super Cobra Jet Ram-Air 4-speed Mach1's. This car was ordered with the even more rare Y-code 4.11 "Drag Pack" Detroit Locker rear Axle ratio. As the Muscle Car era was coming to an end this was Ford's last effort to go all out. These Super Cobra Jet cars do not disappoint with a factory underrated 375 Horsepower, 450 ft lb's of torque, and 11.3:1 compression. If you encountered one of these cars on the street or drag strip, you knew it... This car is no exception and was restored in the late 2000's. This low mileage Mach1 was purchased new at Chick Smith Ford in Clearwater, Florida. This car is rust free and retains its original Ford body panels. After spending time in Florida, this vehicle was purchased and brought to South Carolina where it was stored until the time of its restoration. The motor and transmission were rebuilt during the restoration process. The previous owner wanted to add air conditioning but wanted it to look factory installed (no 429 SCJ 4-speed car left the factory with AC). The painstaking process to add "factory style AC" was completed (this can be removed if it's not to a buyers liking, but is in working order). The Light Pewter Metallic paint is stunning and classy. The interior is in excellent shape and shows extremely well with the exception of the original steering wheel having the slightest crack at the 12 o'clock position. The undercarriage is detailed and shows well.
