Description:

1972 Ford F-100

FOR SALE:1972 Ford F-100 4x4 western ranch truck with hard-earned patina for sale at NO RESERVE. Runs and drives, restoration candidate or use as is for a cabin, ranch, or snow plow truck. Bumpside F-100 4x4s are relatively rare, of the nearly 400,000 1972 Styleside pickups built by Ford, only 18,323 were F-100 4x4s. Marti Report included, one of 253 in Wind Blue with blue interior. Currently running a set of the rare 16" five hole wheels, including spare. See FLICKR album listed below for detail pics including underside. See YouTube link below for cold start and walk around video.

Exterior:Sweaty patina with plenty of dents and dings, zoom in on pics. While it’s a pretty solid truck, there IS some rust, most notably in the driver floor and inner fender near the hood hinge. See detailed photos in FLICKR album listed below. Cab mounts look okay. Thankfully we don’t see frame rot here out west. Tailgate has been replaced, and the passenger side tailgate latch is missing. Tailgate and topper hatch both open and close fine. Tailgate gap is wider on passenger side, might need to tweak that before the passenger side latch could be put back on. Topper is in very good condition, it was stored separately inside for 30 years, and there is no rot or damage.

Interior: Original and usable, no rodents or smells, needs restoration to be nice. Dashpad and seat have tears under the covers, original floor mat is torn and needs replacement.Windows roll up and down and doors lock. Lights, wipers, heater, parking brake all working. Heater blower switch was moved to a toggle under the dash. Radio is non-op, fuel gauge works but reads low, likely needs sending unit.

Mechanical: 153k miles on truck with rebuilt 1973 360 engine, pulls strong with no smoke/noises and NO EXHAUST LEAKS. No weak cylinders. Don’t know exact mileage on engine rebuild, and don’t have paperwork, but it's super solid. 4 speed trans shifts fine, and 4x4 works. Needs a couple of things to use daily – transfer case input seal (leaks) and master cylinder(rear brakes grab sometimes, especially at low speeds). Both are inexpensive if you can do the work yourself. Truck was professionally converted to later integral power steering, and it works well.Newer brass/copper radiator, it's not a cheapo plastic tank unit. Running a set of the rare 16" five hole wheels (including spare) with 7.50-16 traction tires (different brands). Tires are old but not cracked. I've used this F-100 for dump runs for a while now. It starts, runs, and drives ok, but is not a truck you can jump in and drive cross country.
