1956 Ford Parklane 2 Door Station Wagon Customline Ranch Wagon

This Rare 2 Door Wagon, built in 1956, was Ford's answer to the Chevrolet Nomad. Looking at and deciphering the Data Plate shows this is a "P" code Ford 2 door wagon. It came from the factory with a Thunderbird 312 Y-Block V8 engine, 4 bbl carb rated at 225 HP with an automatic transmission. Yes it is true....a Ford Parklane wagon with a 312 T-Bird engine! There are even NOS Thunderbird front fender emblems that denote this as a 312 T-Bird equipped wagon! "R" code for the body style denotes it is a Customline Ranch Wagon coming from the factory with all the extra chrome and exterior trim rather than the plain Jane Ranch Wagon.
"CD" paint code shows it to have been originally painted Bermuda Blue and Diamond Blue, interior. "BB" code indicated medium Blue Vinyl and light Blue Woven plastic which is still on the seats in the car. And it has a very rare power front bench seat! The production number is 169266. This rare '56 Ford Parklane 2 door wagon was built in Long Beach California on July 13th, 1956. The previous owner was undertaking a ground up rebuilt but unfortunately passed away before it was completed. But all the hard work is done. The odometer currently shows 00000.0 miles.

The owner before him had painted the Wagon Blue metalflake and Silver. And the paint job leaves something to be desired. It had also had the door handles shaved intending to install door poppers to open the doors. But the new plans were to put the original door handles and mechanisms back in the doors and everything to do that, either NOS parts or replated chrome are included. There are boxes and boxes of NOS (new old stock) original parts, restored original parts, trim to replace the ones on the car, rubber parts, weatherstripping.....everything to finish the rare 2 door wagon. We opened boxes of freshly chromed and restored parts as seen in the photos. Books and assembly manuals a plenty are included. There are thousands of dollars in NOS parts and rechromed parts that come with the car. New wiring throughout. It just needs to be assembled.

The 312 V8 has been completely rebuilt and has never been fired, fresh, pure clean oil appears on the dipstick. The transmission is a Fordomatic. Power Disc brakes have been installed, drums brakes in the rear, new original style battery, power steering, power brake unit, new rear leave springs and suspension parts. Custom gauge package and dash inserts. Restored original Fairlane style steering wheel with an NOS Horn ring. Original sliding side windows are intact.

The Parklane Wagon rides on Micheline radials mounted on a NOS set of 15" Fairlane Styled Steel wheels with NOS Fairlane center caps.

As I have noted the car has never been started or driven and will need to be final assembled. It will have to be picked up or transported, unfortunately you can't drive it home. The last two photos show the Wagon in an original Ford Dealership brochure and I will include the brochure with the car.
