1980 Ford Model A Shay 50th anniversary

it's time for me to move my Shay down the line to a new caretaker. Lots of maintenance parts already done, all original (rare automatic) super deluxe model. Tires, tubes, and liners new in 2022. (spares not replaced - original tires included if you want them) Runs and drives nice. Heat present but not hooked up. Wipers (vacuum) present but not hooked up. AM radio works, lights work, turn signals work. Disc brakes, rack and pinion steering. Drive on the highway with no issues with the 2.3 OHC Ford motor, 2bbl carb, and electronic ignition. No seat mods or cutting. It's a strong driver quality that shows great. Has a permit sticker, was (allegedly) on the field at President Reagans inauguration. Has a Shriner parade approval badge. Has poster board for car shows. Recently used in a photo shoot and was a big hit. Have the soft top for it, no sides or anything. Located 55 miles west of Chicago. Clean Illinois title in hand.
Other details - The car is in good driver quality. Paint shines up nice. While most Shay hoods do not match the body color anyway – this one also appears to have been rattle canned so it isn’t as shiny. It does not appear to have any accident damage or repair work other than a lousy repair below the rumble seat opening, I took a closeup of that. The heater lines are looped, not sure if the core is good. Wipers or washer are not hooked up. Original AM radio works – I bought a Bluetooth receiver and weatherproof cover to install. Pics of the other stuff I bought but haven’t installed.Press the gas once and turn the key, it immediately fires up. Typical cold weather auto choke that runs a bit rich. Once warm, idles smooth and drives perfect – gets up on the highway and runs 65mph easily all day long.Never any temp issues, even in traffic. Stops and steers nice. The undercarriage is real nice – dirty, but no rust, especially the running board mounts, frame, control arms, etc. Other than my initial oil change, haven’t ever needed to add any fluids. The carpet is pulling away in the rumble seat area and is green – not sure if that is original. One nice thing is this one hasn’t been modified at all related to raising the seat, or cutting the bulkhead like so many do. Bumpers and other chrome are nice, not pitted or peeling. Windshield is separating at the corners, and it does not lock closed, you can push it out with your hand (they are all like this, but original Model A's are not) . Doesn’t move while driving, of course. The radiator emblem was replaced with a real Ford one – which are smaller than the Shay one, so you can still see the rivet holes and some rust staining that was under the original emblem, see pics.I paid $1200 for the 4 tires, tubes, and spoke liners along with balancing by a tire shop. The 2 spares are original and don’t hold air very long. I have the 4 original tires as well, see pics.I’m not sure if the odd exhaust tip is original Shay, but has rust pitting on it. Door panels are shrinking/pulling at the bottoms of the doors. Battery cover has some screw holes broken out but fits fine.I bought restored 1930 Illinois license plates along with a 1930 Chicago city car tag….
