RECENT REPAIRS

During my ownership, I replaced the fuel pump and relay, alternator, battery, coil, spare tire, thermostat, timing chain and the pneumatic parking brake release valve.I also had the air bag and the engine control modules rebuilt.I’ve driven the car about 400 miles in the past month with no problems.

ITEMS THAT COULD BE IMPROVED

Power antenna motor works but the antenna is broken and will not raise or lower.

You can hear the power lock actuator attempt to lock the LF door but the door will not lock. The power locks work on the RF, RR and LR doors as they should.

The paint on most of the car looks almost new.The clear coat on top of car has deteriorated within about 18” of the tailgate. The deterioration continues on the tailgate, the rear sail panels and around the taillights.See picture.

The leather on the LF seat has noticeable cracks. The leather on the RF seathas minor cracks. The leather on the rear seat looks like new.The vinyl rear facing seats look like they have rarely been used.See pictures of the LF seat.

OWNERSHIP HISTORY

I am the 4thowner of the car.I have been contacted by a family member of the 1stowner and I also have information from the 3rdowner.Based on their information, here is my reconstruction of ownership and milage.

The 1stowner’s family confirms that the car was purchased new at University Ford in Peoria, Illinois in 1990.For the first 3 years, the car was garaged in Illinois and Florida. It was driven sparingly and not used year-round.They brought the wagon to Arizona in 1993.It was garage kept there and used as a snowbird vehicle for the next 23 years.

Per the 3rdowner, the 2ndowner bought the car from the original owner’s estate and stored it under a carport for 4 months. The 3rdowner bought car in 2017 and kept it until I bought it and brought it to Virginia in 2020.

Milage

The first milage shown in the AutoCheck report on the eBay auction is from an Illinois title in 1993.The milage is shown as 22,600 and is noted as “not actual miles”.

The 1st owner’s family says the mileage problem in 1993 was from a malfunctioning odometer which was repaired several times. The car was driven sparingly and not used year-round. They cannot estimate what the correct milage would have been in 1993.

Assuming the car was driven 12,000 per year for the first 3 years, the 1993 milage would have been 36,000 or 14,400 more than shown on the 1993 title. Milage on the odometer today is 44,645.Estimated milage:

44,645 (current reading)

14,000 (odometer error 1990-1993)

58,645 (estimated total miles)

Vehicle is available for inspection and/or test drive.

Vehicle is being driven and milage will increase. Vehicle is for sale locally and may be sold before end of auction.
