1956 Ford Thunderbird

1956 Thunderbird convertible with both convertible soft top and removable hardtop. Also has the 312 V-8 engine, power steering, and automatic, and power seat that works. The car runs and drives fine. Good brakes and nice Firestone wide whitewall tires. The correct hubcaps are also nice. This 56 is still sporting its original colors of Raven Black exterior (code A), and black and white vinyl interior (code XA). The paint is decent and the body is very good. Smooth body panels with good fit. The seat cover will need replaced ($365 for new). Seat foam still feels good.The door panels and dash are in good shape. Good exterior stainless and Thunderbird scripts. Nice taillight lenses too. Nice original steering wheel. Nice headliner. Clear gauges. Nice interior chrome. All of the glass is good and the doors do have the fairly rare moveable wing wind screens. The windows operate as they should. The deck lid behind the seat is in good shape. The underside is solid frame and the trunk is good and has a new fuel tank. The front 2 floor mounts (one on each side) are good but the others are weak. Cheaply and easily replaced. The inside rockers have rust through. The exterior rockers are good. The front floors both have small holes ($155 each for new front floor pans if desired), the rear floors are fine. Trunk floor is good. The engine sounds good. The trans shifts good. The car rides decent for a small car. The hood and trunk open and close well. Windows work well. Doors may need slight adjustment but operate decently. The hardtop comes off and back on easily and seats tightly. The black canvass top is older and shrunk a little but raises, locks, and lowers. The spare tire holder unlatches and re-latches and locks well. The following options work: 4-way power seat, horn, temp gauge, fuel gauge, oil and Gen lights, tach, wipers (a little slow), turn signals and the green indicators on dash, headlights and tail lights, map light, heater and 2-speed blower, radio works well. Reverse/backup lights work also. This cool 56 Tbird is in very good shape. Great options! Both tops, power seat, all black colors, 312 motor, automatic, working original radio etc. Not restored but Usable car right away. All black 56's are pretty rare. Sold in as-is condition. Inspection available.
