Wyandotte Michigan patrol car. It is showy and exciting to look at with tons of accessories. It pleases every crowd – every time.

FORD – Here is an exciting piece of Ford history. A fine example of a running, driving 1917 three-door patrol touring car. It seats five adults in comfort. It has a most unusual ride because it has Hassler shocks – rarely used on passenger cars. They were most often used on heavy-duty weight-carrying commercial vehicles. As per Ford, the top speed is 42 MPH which is pretty good for 20 horsepower. Total production was 622,351 and the price was $445. Ford was a miser and a minimalist as were his cars. His vehicles were built for the masses – rugged and better. Why were there only three doors on the touring car? To save money!

Even though there are 40 clear close-up photos here and a video of the car ‘on the road’ allow me to point out just a few of this car’s features.

The top side, underside and interior are in very good to excellent condition. The hood and doors fit properly. One photo shows the condition of the top. I did not secure it as I did not see the need to. The steering wheel and foot pedals show no signs of wear. This is a well-cared-for low hours T. The original floor mat is there. No need to crank this one – it has an electric start.

Wyandotte, Michigan is located eleven miles downriver from the city of Detroit, the birthplace of Ford and the Model T. Outside of Detroit, it is the oldest incorporated city in Michigan. History tells us it was the second-largest city in Wayne County. It was home to Lucille Ball.
