Description:

1947 Ford Other pickup

This amazing ’47 Ford was built by Chris Wilson of Demon’s Speed Shop in Tucson, Z to be his personal ride. http://www.demonsspeedshop.com/(THANK YOU Chris for reaching out!) It was completed back in 2008. Since then it's been featured in Street Trucks Magazine and has won several awards. It most recently won best custom at the 2015 Black Ice Show in Upland, A. The lead picture was from this year's Gatos SoCal show, nd that's Lady Lipstick (Miss Port Nationals 2015) posed in front.

It currently has 4,525 on the odometer. We drive it about 3-4 times a month to car shows and local cruise nights. I've taken it to shows 50 miles away in 90 degree heat on a number of occasions and never had any problems with it. It cruises nice at 65-70 MPH with low RPMs because of the overdrive transmission. It’s registered, nsured, nd titled in California as a 1947 Ford truck. My family is growing so now I’m looking for a 2-door classic pre-‘60s car with a big backseat instead. Feel free to text me with pics of trades in the $25-50k range. I can go up or down with cash for the right deal. Here's the details...

Body & Frame

The cab is an original steel '47, nd the bed is all custom steel too. Fenders and running boards are fiberglass, nd were sourced from Be Bop’s Glassworks. http://bebops-glassworks.com/

Notice the black vinyl that was used during the assembly process to protect the paint where these fiberglass pieces overlap (front end by headlights, ender ends, nds of running boards). Obviously this is a frame-off custom, nd there’s some cool kustom work in it too. The entire frame and firewall have been Rhino Lined. There’s a big Maltese cross sticking up through the middle of the bed that always blows people away. It looks like a thin cross but has a thick support hidden underneath.

The front end is from a ’69 Camaro and has rack & pinion steering. The front grille is all kustom, igh quality and very unique, ar better looking than the stock vertical “jail bar” grilles they came with. The back tailgate is permanently closed, nd the rear bumper is pulled in nice and tight. Kustom painted “Ford” on the tailgate. The paint was done by Travis Martin of Tucson, Z and has satin finished denim purple, ith glossy silver on the fenders. I've always used Rat Wax on the satin parts to maintain the right finish, nd of course it’s garaged 24/7 when not in use.

Suspension & Brakes

This truck rides on air bags, n all four corners. It has an AVS ARC-7 series switch controller, Viair compressors mounted perfectly, nd a hidden tank underneath them. Never had any problems with the air system, ut the bags will leak down if you leave it parked for a week. It's a bit bouncy if the road isn’t flat, o probably not the type of ride to take your grandma to her doctor visits in. But it looks bad ass when you roll up on a crowd, ark, nd drop it on the frame. I mean, hat’s why you’re still reading this, ight? Oh yeah, t even has a bolted-on frame guard under the front cross section to protect the frame’s finish. For brakes, t has disc brakes up front and drums in the back. It stops with confidence, ice and straight like it should. The wheels are 15” purple steelies, ith wide whitewall 6.0 bias ply tires, nd Moon Starburst hubcaps with purple dice valve stem caps.

Engine & Cooling

283ci. GM V8, delbrock Torker intake, ual Rochester carbs from Vintage Speed w/custom faux velocity stacks and K&N side air filters, SD ignition, SD 8.8 wires, nd new spark plugs. It has old polished B&M 2-piece valve covers that have been clearanced inside (+ new gaskets), ith new Earl’s AN breather/PCV combo. Has aluminized ceramic coated headers (+ new copper gaskets), nd hidden dual exhaust that exits before the rear axle. The gas tank under the bench seat is new, uel lines are braided, /electric fuel pump. All aluminum radiator, electric fans push & pull w/temp sensor, teel upper & lower coolant hoses, rand new polished aluminum Meziere water pump ($).

Transmission & Rear End

I just had the 700R4 automatic transmission fully rebuilt in January 2015 at Remac Transmissions in San Dimas, A. They are a well-respected local shop that was recommended to me and the trans came back with a 12 month warranty. $2K receipt included with sale. The push-button Lokar shifter is mounted on the floor where it looks kool. It shifts smoothly through the gears and I always cruise it easy in Drive anyway. Has a Lokar trans dip stick. The rear end is a Ford 9” and I think it has a 3.50 ring & pinion.

Interior & Electric

The interior is in great condition and matches the rest of the truck. All of the gauges work (oil pressure, mps, emp, uel,& speedo),plus additional airpressure gaugesfor front and back. The bench and door panels are upholstered in black carbon fiber & silver glitter vinyl. No rips, ears, r holes. The silver glitter vinyl is aperfect match to the floor of the bed. It took me a few days to realize that! The bench seat has a pair of lap belts. The floor has all new rubber and Mooneyes rubber floor mats. The headliner kit is all black and fits nice. No stereo, /C, r heat. This year didn’t come with turn signals, ut the front marker lights would make perfect turn signals if you ever wanted to convert them. You can fully lock up the cab when you leave it parked by rolling up the windows, ocking the driver’s door with the interior handle (no exterior key), nd then lock the passenger’s door with the exterior key lock.

I just installed a brand new Optima yellow top battery, nd a brand new Aerospace Components tray. I also just installed an expensive Ultra-Mini Alternator from East Coast Auto Electric that works great and helps give the motor a clean look.

Kool Kustom Stuff

Aside from the coated frame and killer looks, here’s a lot of small custom machined & coated parts that all match perfectly and tie everything together. It appears that they were all done together, nd this is just another feature that really sets this truck apart from the rest. All plugs & caps are aluminum. For plugs, otice the hood hinge holes and rail ends on the bed are plugged. Also there are matching caps on top of the rear air bags, he windshield wiper delete, nd interior windshield center cap. The throttle & brake pedals, love box handle, olumn pieces behind the steering wheel, aillight housings, ailgate hinges, nterior windshield trim, ood ornament, elocity stacks, arb linkage connector, ose support rods, nd radiator overflow, re all coated and milled to match. It’s very rare to see attention to detail on this level.

Minor issues:Need to track down a wire or faulty switch because the headlights switch from normal to bright occasionally, ut only when they are on. It also has a very slow drip of motor oil when it’s left parked, o minor that it’s not worth chasing down, ut I usually leave a drip pan under the motor in my garage just in case. There is a 3” scratch on the passenger’s front corner that has been touched up (it was there when I got it).

There are NO issues:starting, dling, verheating, riving, urning, hifting, topping, r with the air system. Click on the YouTube link below, r copy/paste it to your browser to hear it run.
