1991 Ford Mustang LX Coupe

I’m sorry, I had to repost it to add the video. No knocks, no smoke.

It has never been in an accident or repainted. The paint is original but badly faded. It is NOT ROAD LEGAL, as is. For starters, it needs the smog system including catalytic converters, parking brake, seat belts, reverse lights as well as tail pipes to pass NY inspection. The AirBag fault light is ON. EVERYthing performance related has been modified. Motor, Transmission, Rear axle, suspension, braking, cooling and charging systems.

...........please see full write up in the pictures for other work needed to finish it.........................................................

The NY title is clean, in my name with no loans, leans, or accidents. The odometer is broken. It had just over 120k miles when I bought it and the car was basically stock with an automatic transmission. Everything Mechanical was replaced or rebuilt at that time. (the original motor and transmission are long gone) I had a 1990 Mustang 5.0 motor that I had built and swapped into this car. It has less than 5000 miles.

Bored 0.040 over, Kieth Black pistons (gapped rings for a supercharger) E303 Cam (worked) Twisted Wedge Heads, Cobra Intake, electric Mezier water pump, PA Performance 3G alternator. SLE aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. Flotech headers, stainless Bassani X pipe (no cats) and Borla custom low profile mufflers. ECU performance chip and MSD 6AL ignition.

****. ********

The rear axle is original to the car but rebuilt with NEW Moser axles and Motorsport 4.10 gears

I bought the T-56 brand new from D&D Performance with the conversion kit and clutch.

I installed everything listed above at roughly the same time from 2003 to 2005. I have only driven the car locally on occasion. I estimate far less than 5,000 miles on the car since it was entirely rebuilt. The suspension is absolutely amazing and the car has more torque than I ever imagined. I originally planned to install a roots style supercharger (Kenne Bell) but I am very satisfied with the power this combination makes without it. With low accessory drag on the motor, it rev’s to power easily and feels like a much bigger motor. No power is wasted spinning a water pump, fan, A/C condenser, or smog equipment. I have not put it on the dyno but, I estimate it at about 400hp. Passengers have said it feels like a 500hp car. I credit the suspension, gearing and low parasitic drag on the motor.

Maximum Motorsports is the leader in Mustang suspension modification. This car has everything they offered for it in 2004. It handles so much better than a stock Fox Mustang. It has minimal lift when accelerating and minimal brake dive. All energy is transferred to the wheels. The car squats in turns and gets even lower at higher speeds. I built this car for low-mid range power to pull effortlessly out of turns and climb hills. It does all of that and more. I hoped to race auto cross but I never finished it.

My priorities have shifted and driving this car on the street would certainly get me arrested. My neighbors are police and I am straining our friendship by continuing to drive this car. It is fast and loud and you will smell like exhaust after driving it but, you will have a 3 day grin. It is a sleeper. Paint the hood and it will disappear in traffic. I basically stopped working on it in 2005 after starting a family. It has been parked with an occasional joy ride each summer. The tires, radiator and electric fans were the only recent (2017) addition aside from a battery and replacement fuel injector (this summer)

I’ve invested a lot of my time and money building this car. If in doubt, just price the suspension itself, over $7,600.

The Complete T56 package is over $5,400

When I built it, I planned to keep it forever. It has taken 20 years to consider selling it. For the last 18 years, I couldn’t afford the time to finish it and I am only getting busier. It runs and drives, when I plan a rare day to work on it I end up taking it for a ride instead. Do not ask to "buy it now". I am not selling this car for emergency cash. “Same-day cash offers” have no use here. I set the reserve in an attempt to out-price someone that may not be mature enough to drive it. It should not be someone’s first fast car.
