1977 Ford F150 4x4 Ranger XLT
1977 Ford F-150
Up for you bidding pleasure is a 1977 Ford F150 4x4 Ranger XLT Red over White. It is a desert truck with almost no snow or salt exposure. Any rust is flash rusting and is superficial. The factory paint is good and tight. A thorough wash/detailing with wax is all that is needed.
Drivetrain operates well as does all mechanical drive mechanisms. The seats had a black cover which left fibers on the front seat leaving what appear to be black marks. The carpet has a small worn area on the passenger side.
RUST FREE!!!
All factory gauges do work. However, the sensors (still installed in the engine as are the factory connections) will need to be hooked back up as the truck currently has a set of after-market digital gauges installed. She has a 35M engine and a C6 Auto Tranny. The only mechanical concerns are that the clutch AC Clutch needs to be replaced, AC system needs to be recharged, and the valve cover gasket (passenger side) weeps a little causing a slight amount of oil to form under the bell housing.
Most of the time she sits inside of a garage. A carb renew would also probably be in order. She does have a Holley 4160 vacuum operated 4-barrel carb with Ford linkages and a 4-barrel intake manifold. I am the third owner. My dad purchased the truck from his best friend (original owner), and I bought it from my dad.
When the original owner first purchased the truck, he needed additional fuel capacity. But he didn't want to lose the rear seat storage. Also, as this is a 4x4, a midships fuel tank was not an option due to the transfer-case.As a result, he had a custom built 18-gallon fuel tank (built and installed by the dealer in St George Utah). It sits in front of the rear axle on the driver’s side.
Also, as the truck was purchased for hunting, fishing, and camping, an extra battery was installed at the factory similar to how the Diesel engines were setup. Except this had a factory installed battery isolator so that his trailer could also use one of the batteries but not drain both.
The mechanical fuel pump and manual tank selector (although present) have been replaced with two (for redundancy) Carter electric fuel pumps (one for each tank); these are externally mounted on the driver-side frame rail. The truck carries collectors’ insurance and is listed as a Classic Vehicle in the State of Nevada and is currently fully registered.
She’s never been involved in any traffic collisions. The body is straight and in alignment. She will come with lots of new rubber parts for restoration purposes. This includes rubber for windows, channels, doors and sealing surfaces and the like.
The camper shell is in great condition although the interior paint is stripping due to the years of expansion and contraction due to temperature changes throughout the years. She also a pass-through rear window.Although she runs great and is in great condition, rubber and seals have a limited lifetime. But these parts are included and are too numerous to list. She also had the best parts installed on during her lifetime. These include such items as Rancho Suspension parts and such.
This is an incredible opportunity for you to own a piece of motoring history. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by.You will never find a great buy like this again. This could very well be a chance of a lifetime. Extra low reserve price ispresent.
