1978 Ford Mustang

This 1978 Mustang is completely custom from front to back. It is a 3-time SEMA Show car and was one of the top 10 for the inaugural “Battle of the Builders”. It appeared in Ford Mustangs 50th anniversary commercial and has had many articles written on it including Motor Trend, Mustang Hub, and Ford Muscle. The car is powered by a Gen 2 Coyote motor and backed by a TR6060 six-speed transmission, SPEC super twin clutch, and a carbon-fiber drive shaft. The car sits on a fully custom frame, predominately constructed of 1-5/8-inch DOM 1020 steel tubing. The Coyote V8 features a Borla 8 stack Injection and MMR custom machined billet aluminum valve covers. Custom 3” stainless exhaust with Borla Atak mufflers (exhaust work was done by Borla at the Borla R&D facility). The wheels are from Forgeline and are 19”x12” in the rear (Toyo 325/30 ZR19) and 18”x10” in the front (Toyo 275/35 ZR18). Engine management provided by a Holly Terminator X ECU. Keen eyes will notice the integration of Torino rear taillights. Fully dressed the car weighs around 3,000 pounds and along with the 12” expanded wheelbase, suspension, and near 50/50 weight distribution the car handles like a super car.
