1954 Ford Crestline Victoria "One Mint Julep" Kustom Car
1954 Ford Crestline Victoria
The Mint Julep is ready for it's next caretaker. The car is a true California car built by Alex Idzardi in LA, California. Lived in LA from 1954-2016 when it came out east. The car debuted at the 2009 GNRS Suede Palace show. Highly documented on The HAMB. The engine and trans were rebuilt with currently between 30-40k miles on it. Custom touches from front to back include frenched headlights, rounded hood corners, smoothed hood, one-piece floating grille, smoothed front bumper, dummy appleton spotlights, shaved door handles, foxcraft steel skirts, 1954 Packard Clipper tail lights by Fabian Valdez, smoothed rear bumper, french tailpipes in rear bumper, shaved trunk. The paint is Hot Rod Flatz mint green. Interior was redone in Tijuana, Mexico by Cadillac Upholsterers in a factory style pattern with green and white vinyl, custom style headliner and pinstriped dashboard. Stewart Warner 3-Gauge pod lives under the dashboard housing Oil / Water / Fuel gauges. The car is 12v with a fresh battery, serpentine belt, alternator, and starter. NOS 1957 Ford distributor with fresh tune-up. Chrome valve covers and Cadillac style air cleaner. Engine is the factory 239 Y Block V8 with Thunderbird exhaust manifolds running into vintage glass pack dual mufflers. New gas tank, sending unit and electronic fuel pump. Electric fan. Car is rock solid with no rust as is a true California car. New Firestone 6.70-15 tires with Cadillac sombrero hubcaps. Disc brakes up front and drum brakes in the rear. Lowered with Aerostar coils and flipped ball joint in the front with Posies Super Slide rear leaf springs, 3” blocks and a frame C notch. Rebuilt driveshaft U-joints. The car is turn-key, highway friendly, extremely reliable. Just put 1,700 miles on it driving from NJ to Nashville and back with zero issues. Clean NJ title.I have tons of running videos available. The car has a few cosmetic blemish areas to point out, but nothing major. Lower passenger rocker panel has a scratch touched up. The front bumper has some light flash rust from living in Florida for a few years. The roof on the driver side has been touched up. Overall the car shows extremely well. The car was featured in a book called “The Nifty Fifties” by Ray Miller published in 1971, which features an illustrated history of 1950’s Fords. The car is featured on page 161 photographed between a pair of 1954 Skyliners in its original black paint with white top. Overall, this car is truly a beautiful period-correct California custom that was built right, runs and drives great, is fun and reliable, easy and simple to maintain and won't break the bank to get you into the seat of a turn-key custom car with history. Additional literature and parts included with the car.
