Description:

1936 Ford Model 51 Pickup Truck

This is a super clean all steel1936 Ford pickup which has been off the road and in dry storage since 1968 or 1969. 83,000 miles is likely to be the original mileage to the truck. There is a decal in the driver side door jam which has all the mileage and the dates for oil changes. The last mileage in 68 was only about 150 miles away from where the odometer currently is at today. These gauges are original to the truck and have not been out. Some of the parts like the front fenders, and the running boards have never been off of this truck. Some one did add round stock to the fenders to reinforce them. Can be removed easily enough if its not your thing. Doors are super solid with no visiblerust either
I believe this truck was somehow owned by the county or state at one time because of the excessive orange paint that was sprayed everywhere. Looks like the truck was originally blue, then the orange, then mostly sanded off and then some primer. The truck has only one rocker that has been changed in the cab. The rear corners, the back panel the lower cowl are all super solid and original. The bed looks like got some new bedsides installed at one time. I can’t tell if the bed floor was original or not, but it isanOriginal Style Steel floor.
I pulled his truck from the barn, a couple months back, and I’ve been dialing it in ever since. All the glass is in the truck the windows go up and down as they’re supposed to the back window has a crack in it. The windshield is in great shape, as is the windshield frame.
The truck currently has mechanical brakes, which really don’t work that well. The 59 AB motor starts up with the touch of a button and still running on 6 V. There is a fresh distributor, fresh coil, fresh plugs, wires and carburetor, etc.
I ran some new fuel lines and flushed and boiled an original tank, which is back installed. The truck is running off of its original style fuel pump and fuel tank with fresh lines. I also had the radiator boiled and a couple leaks fixed. It looks like the radiator had been record at one time. The leak was on the bottom from the petcock.
Please see the video. The truck is cooling properly starts right up Fresh Battery as well. Any questions let me know. Currently runs and drives around the yard but as I mentioned the brakes, don’t work well and I’m not a fan of mechanical brakes. I think they should be switched over to hydraulic which I have almost all the parts to do butwasn’t sure where the new owner wanted to have the truck being that it is pretty original minus the updated motor which is at 59 AB and runs excellent. Also new tires and fresh power coated wheels
This is a really solid, good truck that needs a few more tweaks to be a solid driver. Truck is located in Auburn CA cand be picked upthere or brought back to Belmont Ca to be picked up.
