Hello welcome to my sale. Have you been looking for a late 1980’s –early 1990’s police car? Have you noticed they are not easy to find, especially in a good decent condition? Have you been looking for an old police car to restore for shows or parades? This must be your lucky day. These boxy Ford police cars are still out there but getting extremely rare and hard to find! Here is your chance at a rust free unmolested survivor that runs and drives!

Vehicle description and History:

Up for bids is the last year of the square boxy Fords!

1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria Police Package/Interceptor, White exterior, Bluecloth/vinyl Interior, This Vehicle is equipped with the H.O. 5.8 L/351cu. V8 and 4 speed Automatic overdrive transmission. It is a project car but is a rust free California/ Arizona car!The car does run and drive. It has a clean clear Arizona Title!The car is in good restorable condition, with a little work it would make a very dependable head turning daily driver or an easy police car restoration. This is a great example of a true vintage law enforcement vehicle and is a great way to get into the police car restoration hobby.Car has spent its service life and part of its retirement in California then was moved to its current home in Arizona desert. I know no further history than that. But the pictures speak for themselves.

VEHICLE EXTERIOR CONDITION

• The exterior condition of this vehicle is good. The paint is still semi shiny in some areas as can be seen in the photos! Vehicle has minor dings, dents and scratches from fleet use and due to it’sdepartments poor choice of decal removal (razor blade) it has a few scrape marks on the doors, but its still a great looking car!

• The chrome could use some polishing to be perfect but still shines beautifully. Chrome is not blistering.

• The front and rear bumpers are in good condition no major dings or dents.

• Grill and headlight trim are in good condition.

• Header panel has some cracks on top by hood ornament see picture, was told vehicle was involved in a traffic collision in 2013, It rear ended a pick up truck at a stop light the trucks rear bumper crushed the gril, headlight bezels inward and cracked the header panel. All cosmetic damage which appears to have been repaired other than the header panel. Headlight bezels and grill were replaced, which explains it having 1990 amber turn signal lenses. 1991s had clear lenses. Cant find any further damage to anything but fiberglass header.

• Parking/turn signal lamp lenses in good condition some light fading from age.

• Taillights are in decent condition with Crown Victoria center crests still in place. Righthad side does have a crack.Lefthand has some scratches on chrome.

• Vehicleretains all four of its original Ford Police heavy duty steel wheels with “dog dish” hubcaps in good condition. Very rare to find the dog dish hubcaps still on the car, usually the first thing to go after purchased at police auction.

• Vehicle tires havesome tread left but are old.

• Retains front license plate bracket.

• No Tinted Windows.

• Vehiclehas no holes in body from police antennas or light bar cable. The original trunk lid was an antenna farm so I swapped it with one that has no holes. Carwas possibly originally a slick top unit with lights in rear deck, headlight flashers and a red steady burn spotlight.

• Vehicle has original AM/FM radio antenna on front passengerfender.

• Vehicle has a spotlight, but does not currently work. Red lense was replaced with clear lense when sold by police years ago.Lense has faded and is cloudy and has a crack.

Vehicle Interior Condition

• Over all condition of the interior is good! Very clean for a patrol unit! [Definitely a survivor, possibly was a one officer take home unit.]

• The front cloth 50/50 split bench seat is good condition, for its age. It is blue velour, some small rips, tears and stains.

• The rear matching heavy duty and easy to clean vinyl seat is in great condition for its age. Not too many scratches from the hand cuffs sliding across.

• All four door panels are good condition, no rips or tears.

• Headlinerisgreat condition, no rips or tears. Absolutely beautiful not sagging.

• C pillar panels are in fair condition, have some wear, rips and tears and will need reupholstery to be perfect.

• The dash Pad is cracked due to hot Arizona sun, but does havea dash mat that hides it very well!

• Carpet is in good condition overall for its age but it is torn on driver's side

• Rear deck has 2holes from police lightremoval.

• Steering wheel is in fair condition a little toasty from the Arizona sun and from the officer being bored and peeling on it.

• Trunk is good, not totally clean, but does have trunk liner and full size spare.

• Overhead visors are fair they are holding up but will need to be reupholstered eventually.

• Speedometer and gauges look great.

• Missing the ash tray

• B pillars are good does not appear to have had a divider/cage. Drivers side does have some holes in it from some equipment removed.

• Vehicle’s rear door handles work/operate properly and can be opened from the inside.

• Vehicle retains all A/C buttons.

• All factory seat belts are in place and functioning.

Vehicle Electrical Condition

• Car is equipped with A/C & Heater. A/C is currently not blowing cold. May need a recharge. The system is still the old R-12 and has not been converted r-134A . Heater works and keeps car very warm and cozy.

• Power mirrors work fine

• Tilt wheel works fine.

• Cruise Control delete.

• Hasgoodbattery holding charge.

• Hazard switch works fine

• Horn not working.

• Clock works great

• Wiper's work.

• Fuel guage works but is inaccurate.( 1/2 tank is empty, 1/4 means half tank)

• Equipped with the full SSV/Police package, it sports a 140mph certified calibration speedometer. It works fine.

• Has Power locks, they are not functional car needs to be locked and unlocked manually.

• Power trunk release works fine.

• Front power windows work fine with no problems. Rearpassenger side window does not work.Drivers side Rear power window works fine.

• There is a Factory AM/FM stereo radio. [currently not working not sure if unplugged or another issue.]

• Spotlight does not work dueto it is not wired in and may need a new sealed beam.

• Automatic headlight delay works fine.

• Map light overhead interior light works fine.

• All headlights, turn signals and other electrical components not already mentioned are working properly.

Vehicle Mechanical Condition

• The Engine compartment is stock and mostly clean greasy in typical areas of a car its age.

• Equipped with the police only H.O. 5.8/351cu V8 engine with 2 barrel Variable Venturi carburetor.

• This car runs but engine will need to be checked over and serviced before it goes back on the road. Has new distributor, cap and rotor, Could use a carburetor rebuild, and the timing set/adjusted to run perfectly. No known mechanical problems other than ones I have mentioned above that I am aware of.I have not driven it very long distances. Mostly around my neighborhood and to gas station.

• It is still an absolute pleasure to drive, it is very comfortable. It gets lots of respect, lots of smiles and thumbs up as you drive.

• Automatic Over Drive transmission shifts into all 4 gears

• Vehicle is equipped with factory dual exhaust it sounds great!

• Odometer Currently reads 62,784. It is non-op, a common issue with these. Also due to it having a 5 digit odometer and its age it is exempt from mileage reporting so actual mileage is unknown. Car did sit for a few years before it was repaired from collision. Does mileage really matter on a car like this anyway? It's an old police car I expect high mileage. Anyone would just be happy to find it in this condition. If your worried about mileage, try finding grandma's LX driven only on sundays.

Need to Know info! Please Read!

Just to inform those who may not know, The ” P71 “model code in the Vin # was not used until 1993! All models before1993 used “P72” which stood for “fleet model “ all police, taxis and base fleet cars where all P72's! But only the police models could be ordered withthe high output V8’s and Certified 140mph speedometer. Yes the 1992 is the newer Aero body style but it is still a “P72” with the police package option. All Police and taxis shared the P72 code up until 1993. There are full police package models with standard 5.0L V8 and/or the optional 5.8L V8.

The 1991 wasnt just the last of the boxy Crown Vics it was also the last and only car available new in the U.S.A. with a carburetor!

This car is excellent for those that want a vehicle that is gaining popularity with the collectors…..keep in mind that Ford killed off the Crown Victoria line so these cars in excellent condition will become scarce especially the already hard to find Police Models.

Someone pointed out that under "Police package" section I typed " oversized fuel injectors" when this car does not have fuel injection. That is correct this car has a stock two-barrel Variable Venturi carburetor. I had copy and pasted that section over from a previous listing and missed it during editing. Thank you.
