Description:

1962 Ford Galaxie

1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible 406 B code.Survivor with 95% of the car in original paint, the exception is the lower passenger fender under the trim emblem. Body and undercarriage is solid. With original paint comes nice hood, trunk, and door lines and gaps. Some of the interior like dash and center console are excellent. The rear seat upholstery, rag top, sun visor's and part of the front seat upholstery are completely deteriorated.Mechanically drivable, however not road worthy.I drive the car around a small town. Starts, idles, runs excellent. Clutch and shifts well, with reverse lock out. Brake pedal feels ok, however if I get on them too hard the rear locks up too easily which might be the bias tires. Starts and runs well, however I think on of the cylinders is not firing strong.
To be road worthy, it would at minimum need new tires, steering should be tightened up (tie rods or the steering sector?), light or blinker checks.Power convertible motor and convertible frame operate as intended.
I'm about the 4th owner. The story is
1) Lady school teacher in Iowa
2) Then it was a police car or a small town cop patrolled with it
3) Denny, who I bought it from, drove it and then parked it in a rural or farm garage in IA away from his residence, a tree or branch fell on the roof of that building which allowed coons in the garage that ate or destroyed the rag top and interior.
4) Denny moved to Westbrook where he lived and it sat in storage for years, he became unable to care for it. I moved into the home across the alley from him and bought it from him years ago.
Since I've owned it, it's had a new gas tank, fuel pump, tune up, carb rebuild, armature and misc etc. and did some exhaust and brake work and I enjoy small town cruising the way the car is.

Facetime inspections can be arranged starting the Thursday the 8th.The car is currently parked in the showroom of the old Ford Garage that is decently well lit. I live in Denver, my parents live in Westbrook and see the car every day. A facetime could be arranged with my parents.
You are welcome to come and inspect the car M-F during the day or Saturday morning. You or someone you hire are welcome to come and put your hands on the car, crawl around, find numbers etc. I am out of town, my parents are available M-F during the day.
Presents amazing, passenger quarter ahead of the rear tire has a rust hole. If I remember correctly, one of the rear leaf springs is broken.
