Vehicle Details

This Ford Galaxie 500 seden is in excellent condition, a few light scratches but beautiful overall. They will all buff out. The vehicle was originally white. It went over a complete exterior color change, including all the door jambs, underside of the trunk & hood, as well as the trunk & hood jambs. The underneath was cleaned, scraped & undercoated. What ever rust that was apparent was cut out & replacing with new metal, the car was completely primed with epoxy primer, painted deal vivid black & 3 coats of clear was applied. The entire exterior body was wet sanded & buffed to a mirror finish. $11k was spent 8-9 years ago on all the body & paint work.

All stainless steel moldings & trim is perfect & was repaired / polished to mirror finish, everything is original except for a few items that were pitted & needed replaced with new parts, $1800 was spent to polish every. Bumpers, tail light bezals, & grill components are original & in great shape, the front might actually been replaced with new ones because they appear to be in excellent condition, 8 out of 10 I would rate their condition.

Wheels are a 15” Cragar style with new BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s mounted on them.Chrome on rims are showing signs of pitting, the name says Supreme Wheel on center cap.

On the interior, the door panels and handles are all original and complete, the front and back seats are original with original seatbelts. The carpeting was replaced and his brand-new, the headliner was replaced and is brand-new as well as the rear deck trim behind the back seat the dashboard is original and all of the lights on the dash work, the vehicle has drum brakes on the front and rear, they work, but can use some adjustments to balance or equalise the front to the rear wheels. The windshield glass is new, the side door & rear glass is original, the driver door glass has some light scratches in it from a bad window seal, but all seals were replaced as well.

The engine, transmission & rearend is all matching original to this car. The engine is a 289 cu in that was rebuilt with all new gaskets, piston rings & seals the carburetor was also rebuilt. The transmission is a 3 speed automatic & was rebuilt as well at the same time. I do not know the actual rearend gear ratio but it runs well at 65 on the highway. I do know the header manifolds are original & have 2 small cracks in them that can be noticeably heard when started cold, but as the engine warms up that sound disappears. Exhaust was replaced, it exits the vehicle on the left rear side under the bumper.

The truck was completely stripped & textured very nicely. The engine compartment is also well done, it’s finish in satin black which is clean & tasteful.

The vehicle rides very nice, the suspension was gone through & whatever repair/replacement was required was done. I’m not sure if or when the shocks have been replaced.

The power steering pump needs a seal or gasket replaced because the oil leakings out very slowly over a short time. This doesn’t affect anything & is a very minor repair that wouldn’t cost much to fix. I just haven’t had much time to drive this vehicle or even work on it much over the last few years.

It’s always been stored in a conditioned garage since restoration. It starts up easily ever time. Just a few pumps to the gas pedal as it turns over & it runs well with the automatic choke while it warms up.

The springs I believe are original, the car seems to float more then I personally prefer but doesn’t affect the drivability.

There is an aftermarket oil pressure gauge mounted on the lower dash area above the gas pedal.

I’m located in the 44136 area code.

I prefer pickup, but will be available if the buyer schedules & makes ALL arrangements for transportation or shipping, of course, after PAYMENT IN FULL is made.
