1932 Ford Roadster deerborn deuce convertible all steel body

Vehicle Details

1932 deerborn deuce convertible with the fully disappearing top on a drop axle chassis with 9” rear end. You won’t find a better deuce than a deerborn all metal body. This car in particular has 3 types of sound deadening material resulting in a quiet comfortable interior, and was meticulously built thru and thru. This is a California special construction build with a CA VIN, due to an error on the dmv’s side it is titled as a model year 1934 but is in fact a 32.

The interior of the car is all black with nice newly upholstered door panels that have speaker cutouts, door grab handles that double as arm rests and pockets. The retro gauges have a nice pearl fender pickguard that was modified to use as a bezel. The car is equipped with functional a/c and has room in the bulkhead firewall plate to add heat down the line. The tiffany tone stereo is not just for looks, it’s a functional am stereo that also has an auxiliary cable wired underneath the bench seat to listen to your own tunes. The bench seat has driver and passenger two stage heated seats and has plenty of positions to accommodate most drivers. Flip the bench forward and you have access to the hertz 6x9 speaker, AGM battery and heavy duty flaming river battery disconnect switch.

There are two hidden levers in the driver side door jam, one opens the trunk and the other gives you access to the space behind the driver seat to fold down the top and make it disappear. The trunk area is carpeted and upholstered and features cubby pockets in the side cards as well as removable side cards to have access to the clutch fluid reservoir and stereo wiring. The ignition is tucked behind the dash and next to the steering column. The start button is now a horn button and the left/right indicator lights are controlled by a switch left of the steering column.

The engine is a 427 small block Chevy built by skipwhite performance that dyno’d at 590hp on their stand.

The engine features:

Wiseco racing pistons

Scat rods

Scat crank

Howard cam roller lifters

A Crane cam

A double roller timing chain

850 cfm Holley carb

AFR HEADS with scorpion 1.4 ratio roller rockers

And an ATI super damper.

There’s a video on YouTube showing the dynorun for this engine that I will try to post here. https://youtu.be/yOSp7f9EDzg

The engine timing was retarded slightly to allow for a more streetable user friendly ride but hiding in the timing is a beast.

Mated to the engine is a tremec tko500 5 speed manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch.

The rear end is a 9” housing with 3.93 gearing and a 35 spline Detroit trutrac drop in. The axle shafts are beefy and have 1/2” studs. The car has disc brakes all the way around.

The car sits on halibrand knockoffs

The front tires are sized 6.00r16

And the rear tires are 7.50r16

Plenty of meat on the tires and despite being a skinnier wheel they get plenty of traction. There is very minimal rubbing in the rear with the taller tires but not anything we’ve ever had an issue with.

The car is a 15 year old build and as beautiful as it is, it isn’t perfect.

The paint has plenty of shine but does have some slight imperfections on the hood and some scratches on the trunk lid that would go away with the a nice professional paint correction and wax job. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, there is some slight rubbing from the rear tires on the body. There are some spots in the chrome shocks and front suspension that show some pitting and rust. All easily fixable, but worth noting to give an accurate description of the car. Included but not pictured are the louvered panels that attach to either side of the engine.
