1949 Ford Other

1949 Ford panel with no reserve. This panel is powered by a 350 chevy, with a th350 transmission. Front suspension is mustang ll with disc brakes, power rack and pinion steering, power brakes. Rear end is 9” ford leaf spring with 2.75:1 gear, drum brakes. It has an ididit steering column with tilt wheel, column shifter. Walker radiator, electric cooling fan, new wiring harness and reproduced fuel tank. Electric wiper motor.
Interior is body painted with new instrument cluster. There is a reproduction panel headliner above the front seats only, and carpeted floor. Seats are Chevy with integrated seatbelts. The rear cargo area has no completed interior. It has a wood floor, and painted lower sides. There is temporary uncovered wafer board on the sides, to hold speakers. No covered sides or headliner. Does have reproduction headliner bows.
Exterior is all original steel, no reproduction steel or fiberglass parts. It’s painted with a two stage blue metallic chameleon paint, painted around 2010 or so. It goes from blue to grey depending on the sun. Very unique and eye catching.
This panel runs and drives pretty well. Though is shows well in the pics, the body and paint is showing wear. The body sides are a little wavy, right side of panel the metallic paint is spotty, mostly not noticeable. There are a few dings in the body, multiple chips and scratches in the paint throughout and a few areas have small bubbles in the paint starting, indicating corrosion forming underneath. 13 years of use, a good amount of garage rash and a good amount from using and driving it, the body and paint is showing its wear and tear close up. The truck still shows good as a driver, and still has many more years before body/paint rework will be necessary. But it’s not show quality. I’m trying to state the condition so the buyer is aware that there are flaws, they just don’t show in the pics. There is no heater or no air conditioning. The emergency brake cable and mech is not hooked up.
This panel is being offered at an affordable intro cost, into the Ford classic truck world. A lot better than starting from scratch. I’ve enjoyed it but time to re-home it. I’m getting old. You pay for gas and I’ll offer to deliver it cross country by driving it myself if needed, after it’s purchased.
Ask any question, I’ll answer promptly and honestly.
