33 Ford coupe chopped - first 8 pictures are when it was nearly fully assembled
1933 Ford Other
BACKGROUND:
This was a project my father was working on before he passed. A little background, he was an artist and editor(illustrator) for Handyman magazine in the 80's and 90's. I include that because there are A LOT of sketches of what he wanted this car to finishlike. ThisIS an incomplete build. It is a full restoration/build starting with a '33 Ford frame that has been extended BOTH ways about 2" I am not exactly sure what everything has been done to this. I am NOT a street rod expert but have helped him a little bit with building it. There are about 100 extra photos of the progress that can be emailed (digitally scanned) to any interestedbuyers. Hewas working with a well-known rod builder/enthusiast near Eau Claire Wisconsin for most of the build that we can contact if there's a question we cannot answer.
WHAT WE KNOW:
Prior to his passing he wanted to take the whole thing apart and polish every nut and bolt on it to stainless steel/chrome quality. He took the driver’s side door off and started wet sanding it again. He took the dash out to install an electric steering assembly from I believe a 2004 Toyota Versa. It has custom sewn leather corvette seats in tan leather. The door cards are all customized and incomplete. There is a sound system included that is still in boxes. (Sony Explode, old I know (but complete with X-overs, amps and about 8 speakers)) This is a dyno tuned crated 350 with maybe 1000 miles on it. Edelbrock 4-barrel carb with manual choke. Suicide doors with shaved handles (solenoid controlled (Dakota Digital)) He was hoping to race this ¼ mile so there is a fuel cell in trunk, aluminum enclosed battery box also in trunk. He did NOT include a full roll bar. The interior is set up for a 7 point harness system. (please ask) I have a brand new set of headers(rare fitment issues) that will bolt right on with gaskets. (he has the break-in headers on now) Stainless exhaust system, electric drop down licenseplate, aluminum(unfinished) skid plates to cover the entire bottom of vehicle that will bolt in. I believe the entire front suspension is from a newerMustang, also, all chrome. It has classic Crager rims and 80-90% tread tires. A custom sloped front aluminum grille (his "baby" - custom made) Most of the body has been custom fit and chopped, I think 6 coats of primer, paint and clearcoat. Everything is custom fitted and formed because of the added width and length of the frame. I will include A LOT of tools and some pneumatics with this sale as well.
CONCLUSION:
We want whoever gets this car to know the way he "planned" to put it together and help bring this car to its finish. There are many "extras" we would like the buyer to determine what would help them to continue the restoration.
THINGS WE DON'T KNOW:
-Transmission size
-Rear differential (brand OR gear ratio)
-Exact year front end
-Door glass included??? I never remember seeing this with windows up or installed
-Exact Edelbrock carb part number
We are just getting this running after sitting for the past year. I had to replace the ignition lock cylinder, because we lost the key. It now starts, runs and drives.
Please contact me if you have any questions, I want the buyer to be 100% informed!
Thank you.
