1941 Ford Pickup Hot Rod - Rebuilt Rocket 88 Powered Traditional Hot Rod; Chopped and Channeled

Let me introduce you to my Chopped and Channeled, Rocket 88 powered 1941 Ford Pickup custom built by Torchie Gilewicz. This rust-free custom is a true traditional hotrod from the 1947 Ford Banjo rear end to the 1941 Ford Spindles, 1951 Ford cab and rebuilt Juice Brakes. The 1954 Oldsmobile Rocket 88, V-8, 324 ci engine has been completely rebuilt and detailed with less than 50 miles since the rebuild. Jack Rushton’s classic 1941 Ford Hot Rod built in Monticello, California inspired the original concept for this custom pickup.

The work remaining on this hotrod allows the new owner enough room to personalize it to their taste and enough parts to hit the ground running. There is no glass installed in this car though complete window assembly kit and all seals are included. The bed is without a floor panel. Wiring is ready for radio installation. Note the photos that show dents in the lower cab frame, a tear in the upholstery and two body cracks. The truck is primed and ready for painting.

Extensive documentation of the build are included in a Google Drive folder linked below. In the linked folder you will find:

- Videos of Cold Start, Driving, Gear Shifting, Exhaust, and Drive-by.

- Additional detail shots of the entire Custom, front to back, top to bottom

- Full 85 page Jalopy Journal thread chronicling Torchie’s original build, build lists, and list of all additional parts included in the sale

- Photos of the Rocket 88 engine rebuild, original build before and after priming, imperfections in the body and every part included in the sale.

The truck is currently registered in Georgia with clean title, original bill of sale, and a clear VIN on the frame. Do not hesitate to use the "contact seller" to ask any questions or arrange To come by and see the pickup in person. In addition to responding via message, I will add a document to the Google Drive to make my comments viewable to other prospective buyers.

Aside from being a rare example of a traditional Ford hotrod, this pickup comes with a great story. The build was modeled after Jack Rushton’s classic 1941 Ford. The original builder, Torchie Gilewicz, passed away in 2020. Jim Matthews – our father and the second owner – passed away in 2021 before we could complete this project. Not many legitimately traditional hotrods are out there anymore. Just mention Banjo rear end and juice brakes at your next meetup and watch the ears perk. Whoever buys this Rocket-88 powered classic will be following in the lineage of some true, lifelong gear-heads.
