1985 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat

Here we have a 1985 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 2wd rcsb pickup. This is a hard find in the truck world. It's a one owner truck since new, purchased and lived its entire life in Taylorsville N.C. here locally. Still has the dealership nameplate on the tailgate and front bumper tag. Comes with Carfax and paperwork to back up the history of it. Gentleman that owned it passed away several years ago and the truck just sat. Below is a brief description:
Exterior: She still wears her original blue/white paint from the factory. No wrecks, repaints, or bodywork ever. I believe it would all come back and have a good shine except for the hood. Me, I like it the way it is with the patina faded look. Unreal body on this truck, 99.8% rust free. One small spot behind the tailpipe and the surface scale of the hood is all, no holes, bubbles, anything. The rockers, cab corners, bedsides above the wheels, solid. Both bumpers and all Lariat trim are straight and rust free. It was kept on concrete under a carport pretty much its entire life is why the body is rust free and the underneath is so dry. The front end stuck out some from under the roof, hence the hood fade. The doors on this old girl shut with one click like a new one, no dragging or have to slam them to close. Inside of bed has been used, but still pretty nice. Lights and all work front and rear. Wheels are the factory 15", no curb rash or anything, just faded like the rest of the truck. The tires have plenty of tread but need replacing before driving, dry rot from sitting.
Interior: All original and untouched as well. Seat looks good, no real wear, and no tears. Carpet is in great shape as far as no tears or worn places I guess because it has the Ford heavy duty mat still in there, but it is faded a tad. Dash of course has cracks as they all did. Headliner is falling down. Door panels look pretty good, sun faded some. You can order dash and door panels in blue for $600 brand new. Local shop said $175 for new headliner. Myself, I like original, so I wasn't going to change anything out except the headliner. Power windows and locks all work great. Has A/C, doesn't blow cold, but it's all there and not altered. Heat is hot and works.
Drivetrain: Truck has the famous 302 engine with fuel injection. Runs great, no smoke or funny noises, no motor or tranny leaks that I can find. dry under the engine. Automatic transmission shifts like it should, no issues. Will need exhaust, not loud or anything, but you can tell it's old and needs to be replaced. Mileage is correct at 104,000 but I found a receipt and all warranty info in the glove box for $2018.34 where the man put a new engine in it at 86,000 miles. So, I guess the new engine only has around 18,000 on it. Some maintenance records come with the truck also from over the years. Steers and drives like a low mileage truck. Brakes are soft and leaking some fluid from somewhere underneath, I drove the truck about 10 miles, they still stop the truck just funny feeling soft pedal. Definitely would go through them before driving it any real distance. Will definitely need to be trailered home, but will drive enough to load for shipping though. uge parking lot right on I-40 less than 2 miles from my garage.

I have some of the cool original paperwork to go with the truck. Ford owner's ID card, original bill of sale for $11,285, lol, even have the salesman's business card from 1985, but no window sticker sadly. You are seeing this 38-year-old truck in it's found condition, nothing washed, cleaned, or doctored, just raw how I purchased it. I don't believe in doctoring one, I like to buy mine untouched, so that's how I'm gonna sell this one. The bullnose F-150s are so hard to find at all in a short bed regular cab. One like this in good colors with original paint, no rust, one owner, and low miles, nearly an impossible find. I build and sell several trucks each year, mostly Chevrolets, but I've been wanting to do a Ford. After purchasing this one and giving it a real good once over, it's just too damn nice to take apart and customize in my opinion. So, I'm gonna let someone who wants a nice original truck enjoy this one and start my search for one I can tear into a million pieces and build that's not this nice. lol. I've been a collision tech for over 30 years and have been building trucks since I was 15 years old, I know what I'm doing and what to look for in a nice vehicle. Check my feedback from buyers, everything I list and sell on Ebay is described accurately, not one issue in my over 20 years selling here. If you have any question, feel free to ask, if you need pictures of anything specific, just shoot me a message. I will get it to you promptly. Thanks for looking and take care.
