Description:

1985 Ford Mustang SVO

1985 SVO Mustang, Dark Sage Green color, motor, transmission and rear end were rebuilt several years ago but have less than 1000 miles since rebuild. Below are the details as best I can describe them, the good, the bad and the ugly!

Please remember that only 49 SVO Mustangs were made in this color, less than half of these remain, so it’s very rare!

Exterior- Bad

2 scratches on front bumper bottom molding on passenger side needs a touch up

Spats are not color correct. They should be green but are trim colored.

One very small pin hole rust spot on passenger side

Small scratches here and there but nothing bad

Wheels need to be buffed

Small ding on drivers side but you have to look for it to see it.

Missing the thin strip molding and the proper dual muffler tip

Interior- Bad

Needs rear seatbelts replaced

The top of the rear seats, about 4”need to be dye matched. They are sun faded

Rear glass had tint on it but it did not peel off fully. Not sure how to fix this.Needs an ashtray and cigarette lighter. The ashtray is rusted and looks bad

The stock radio works but crackles when you adjust it.The car has 3 keys instead of 2 as the trunk lock was replaced.

Interior good

New carpet, headliner, front seat belts, dash pad, sun visors, the door panels are in great shape, all windows work as they should. The leather wrapped steering wheel, shift knob, shifter boot and ebrake handle were re-wrapped by the late great Bob Tweedy and look new. Both the gas tank and trunk button work as they should. The trunk lid has new supports so it raises and holds like new.The interior panels have all been sprayed the correct color, the dash panels are flocked and look new.The interior is in really good shape 9/10.

Exterior Good

Paint is 9/10, there are some small scratches but nothing serious for a 35 year old vehicle. Headlights are new, fog lights are there are work as expected.

Mechanical and body;

Engine was rebuilt to factory specs several years ago and has less than 1000 miles, same with the transmission and rear end. No leaks that I can see. The AC was not on the vehicle when I bought it and it remains that way.New Koni’s all the way around. I have the old ones that will go with the car.An adjustable clutch was put in place of the dog bone last time it broke. The car starts and runs fine, has a new battery as well. The Eagle GT tires look new, but have been on the car for several years. I dont know if I would trust them on a long trip, so trailering this car home would be in your best interest.

The car is not perfect, but a good example of a very rare car. Any questions please ask! For those in the SVO community, this was once known as the "horse trailer" SVO. Good luck and happy bidding!
