1966 Ford Mustang

1966 Ford Mustang Fastback GT 2+2. Clear Florida title. Has been in storage since 2006. It has been on my "list" of projects but it seems I'm not going to get to it anytime soon. I would rather it be restored than rust away. It is all original with the exception of the transmission, carburetor and rear axle. It came with a 3 speed floor shift but now has a 4 speed, I have an Original FOMOCO 4 barrel carburetor from a 1965 289 Mustang that needs new seals, not installed, and the rear axle is now a positrac. Don't know what gears are installed. It has factory front disc brakes and drum rear. Also equiped with the dual lights insert on the grill and the exhaust exits through the panel below back bumper. Original color was Emberglo. It has the factory Pony interior option in Parchment. The seats are in decent shape. No rips or damage. The dash panel is warped pretty bad. Overall the interior just needs a good cleaning. As you can see in the photos, there is some rust under the paint in several areas and some small holes under the rear glass. The gas tank was disconnected but filler neck is there. I have some of the original emblems and some new ones along with new weather stripping in a box of parts. I know the sheet metal is readily available for these Mustangs, and are not terribly expensive. I have experience with welding and auto restoration so I have an idea of what it will take to get this car where it deserves to be. Having said that, I'm not giving it away, but because it's an original Fastback GT I do have a reserve on it. It will take some work but it's well worth the investment of time and funds. Keep this in mind, the worst thing someone can steal from you is your time, because it cannot be replaced. Don't waste either yours or mine. Thanks for looking

Update to posting! This car has many indicators of being a factory GT, however the "C" code in the ID number indicates otherwise. Either the previous owner went through several steps to clone a GT, or they replaced the driver side door and didn't bother with the door tag. I'm not trying to misrepresent this car. It is what it is
