A 2.3-literturbocharged four-cylinder provided the underhood punch, offering up 200 hp and240 lb-ft of torque in 1986. Power is sent to the rear wheels through afive-speed Borg-Warner five-speed manual transmission and 3.73 rear gears. Tomanage this extra speed, four-wheel discs were pilfered from the contemporaryLincoln Mark VII, while a Hurst shifter and closely-spaced pedals made quickshifts easier.
