1978 Ford Bronco

Merry Christmas!
‘78 Bronco Ranger XLT 4x4 (351M). Years of restoration.Listing here and will now make it available for purchase, locally.
She’s an absolute head-turner and conversation starter. She’ll come with years of service & purchase records, and many additional service and maintenance stock I've accrued from Bronco Graveyard, LMC, Summit, etc…like Hi-torque starter, HEI distributor, Fel-Pro oil pan gasket, Fel Pro tranny gaskets, and more.

Mostly babied, religious maintenance, never been beaten.

A bit of rust on her front left wheel well, hole above manufacturing info tag inside driver’s door well. (see photo).

Paint is wearing in some small areas, clear-coat somewhat patchy on hood (though sun will still blind you bouncing off when waxed). Floor pans were treated properly for rust after previous owner rhino-lined the floor.

Brand-new heater-core and fan is HOT. Brand new front disc brakes, rotors, and hub assemblies have been cleaned, replaced with new grease and gaskets.Rear drums: a year+ old with new wheel cylinders. (Was planning on a brake conversion but couldn’t decide on which way to go and didn’t get to it).

Runs and drives like a dream. She purrs at 70, 75 mph.

Front end sits on quad shocks, 2 in rear, all newer Monroe shocks, though 4 Pro-Comp ES9000's will be included with the sale.

New Champion 4-core Aluminum rad and cap. New overflow/spit-tank. New trans oil cooler and lines. New water pump, thermostat, gaskets, and premium hardware. New exhaust manifold gaskets and stage 8 locking hardware.

NOS side mirrors. New door frame seals, door latch strikers, engine bay/hood cowl seal, window (horizontal seals) and quarter-window seals. Could use a new seal and mounting hardware for the topper—currently NO leaks.

Power steering. Left tie rod-end replaced a couple years ago, will come with new left and right tie-rod ends. New front diff-cover after its oil change and gasket replacement. Steering components were repainted a few years ago. Brand new main axle seals for the Ford rear-end.

Very Good condition 33” MickeyThompsonDeegans,and a 3" lift.

ENTIRE REPLACEMENT ROOF (bought from another 78 Bronco donor rig) was installed, with factory new windshield and gasket from LMC. $6K in professional metal work done to complete and clean up pillars. A subsequent minor issue with the dash cluster following the work resulted in the following:

A grounding/switch issue that hasn’t been sussed out, so some gauges occasionally act up. Gas gauge always works. Oil pressure and current always works. Dash light glows bright and lights work (new headlamps as well). Signals and brake lights work, radio/cassette sometimes works. Cab lever for dropping rear window works. A bit slow on the return. Driver's window occasionally sticks. Reverse lights out (either a relay or NSS).Windshield wipers stay on until the bus has been drained (a couple minutes).

Interior is very nice: two-tone blue vinyl/pleather. No foul odors. Non-smoker. Typical driver seat wear to the front split-bench seat, on the left where you slide in and out. It has been mended with a tape weave, and anew matching bench seat-cover has been added to protect from more friction). The rest of the bench is great and the levers on both sides work to fold one half forward, and allow you into the backseat.

The backseat looks brand new.Backseat folds up to create a spacious rear. Underside of back bench seat is cardboard which has a tear in it, but no rot exists. Dash is solid, regularly protected.

New stock glove compartment box, which will come with plastic replacement box. Driver’s visor doesn’t snap into place. Passenger’s is fine. Seatbelts in the front (and rear!) all legal and work great. She's got the factory option roll bar! And the windows and new windshield have been professionally tinted to match the topper’s (factory tinted windows). Tailgate has two new drop cables to install.

I've repainted the valve covers, brackets, and oil bath air cleaner with hi-temp paint, after maintenance. (Oil bath is even better for when she's in dusty, sandy areas). She's also got 351 engine decals (for that additional 10 horsepower!)

2bb carb (5.5 yrs old), 1-wire chrome alternator, alternator bolt, belts, starter solenoid, ignition coil, battery. Many new service/maintenance parts will be included.

All hoses replaced, cap+rotor, all plugs, wires, ignition coil, as well as valve cover and exhaust manifold gaskets &hardware. Stage 8 locking hardware. Thermostat and thermostat housing. Quarter window gaskets.

Dana 44 and C6 (automatic) are solid, headers are wrapped, new dual exhaust and turbo mufflers which sound very respectable close-up and far away—not obnoxious.

Rims have been painted with flat black Duplicolor peel, if you want to remove it and take it back to the chrome.

Sold as is, without warranty, returns, or refunds. If you have questions, ask them prior to bidding, please. I'll be available to answer ASAP and to the best of my ability. Nothing to hide here. I want this little lady to go to a good home. More photos available upon request. Mileage reads 64,075 but is clean-titled as exempt.
