1990 Ford LTD Crown Victoria VinylI purchased this vehicle from a family near Cincinnati Ohio. I was told the vehicle was parked for the 7 years before I bought it due to the mother having Alzheimers and no longer able to drive it. Judging from the condition of the interior and exterior of the vehicle, I completely believe it! There is minor rust behind the drive side rear tire, and a bit on the front chrome bumper, but outside of that the vehicle is in great condition. Part of the excitement of getting the vehicle was to enjoy it with my father, who sadly passed away before he could see it. I've enjoyed the vehicle for sometime now, but this past year, besides driving it to church a few times, it's primarily been in the garage. It's time for someone else to make memories with it. I nicknamed her Myrtle.
Upon driving it home from Ohio, I realized the odometer & tripmeter wasn't turning and clicking. I removed the cluster and had it sent it to be repaired, and it's worked ever since.
I have a few repair orders from the original owner, looks like a new Alternator was installed in 2003.
I have also had the local suspension shop and Ford store do the following while I've owned the car: Replace Thermostat (engine gauge on cluster doesn't work, wanted to be safe), Replaced IAC, EGR valve & sensor, and reset PCM to try stop the Check Engine light from coming on (intermittent, kind of fixed it). The vehicle has new shocks on all corners, and coil suspension on front & rear, also redid most of the front steering linkage.
Before I purchased the vehicle (due to the car not being driven), they overhauled the transmission and valve body, replacing 3rd gear plates. They also replaced rear wheel cylinders on brakes, and replaced both front brake calipers.
What doesn't work? I'm assuming the drivers side airbag as the light continues to flash, the radio is sensitive when you tough the power/volume knob. Outside of that I've had great luck with it, but really only drive it on Sundays or to car shows.
I have the original window sticker, and am more than willing to send you more pictures and a copy of the CarFax if you'd like.
