1955 Ford Thunderbird
1955 Ford Thunderbird-Original rust-freeThunderbird Blue body-Complete car and ready to be restored-Been stored for decades in a local garage-First year of the iconic Ford ThunderbirdNO RESERVEUp for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1955 Ford Thunderbird. The Thunderbird is essentially a local San Francisco bay area car since new. The car was purchased as a trade in Fremont, CA. The paperwork for that transaction is still present with the car. The owner was an avid Ford collector and had an especially soft spot for first generation Thunderbirds. The car has stayed in the east bay for the majority of its life. Some time in the 1980s the car was meticulously taken apart to be fully restored to concourse spec. Unfortunately that never happened, however part was cataloged and stored in bins with the car for decades inside a local garage. This car is a fantasticrestoration candidate because of the solid body and completeness of all its original parts. The body can even be left as is for a original patina look, options are endless for this iconic bird. Cosmetically this Bird is obviously a project. That being said the body is very straight and free of rust never been in an accident. The Thunderbird Blue paint is in good enough shape to sand and buff for a patina look or it wouldn't be much work to have it look brand new. The car comes with all of the original metalwork from the bumpers to the grille and trim pieces. They are original and in good shape with no damage. The original convertible top is still attached and should be replaces however it is complete. The original Thunderbird Blue hardtop is in great shape. A popular local Hot Rodding accessory was to change the rear lights lenses to lenses from a 56 Mercury wagon. They perfectly bolt up. One of the lenses is broken but I do have another authentic replacement lens. The interior is currently stripped out however everything is complete and in boxes. The original seat is still usable, the original door panels are complete. I have all the jute padding as well. The original 150mph dash is in great shape. The steering wheel is also in fantastic condition. I have the original tonneau cover as well that still has elasticity. There is no rust holes in the floorboards and everything is solid.Mechanically the Thunderbird was running before it was disassembled. The motor and transmission parts are all present and complete with all the Thunderbird specific pieces. The car still has the original Thunderbird valve covers as well as the Thunderbird Only exhaust manifolds.NO RESERVE THIS ITEM WILL SELL TO THE FINAL BIDDER!This listing includes well over 200 detailed HIGH DEFINITION photos and video, The car has been described as descriptive as possible.
