1972 Ford Ranchero GT

1972 Ford Ranchero GT, Q code, 351 Cleveland "Cobra Jet", Factory A/C, Power steering, C4 auto. project car.
A 1972 Ranchero was a one year body style and came in a few trim levels. This car is one of very few Ranchero GT's built in 1972 that had the factory option Q code 351 Cleveland 4 barrel engine known as the "Cobra Jet". The car was optioned with factory air conditioning and power steering. Originally it was painted white but was later custom painted and striped.
The car is believed to be bought new at a Ford dealership in Albuquerque, NM and has spent the rest of its life in NM. This carwas fully restored in the mid 90's. Shortly after the rebuild it was parked next to a business that caught fire and the paint on the front of the car was peeled due to heat. Minimal damage was done to a couple wires near the headlights and a few other plastic pieces near the front exterior. No damage was done to other parts of the car. The car was sold after the fire to a gentleman that had the vision to make this into a street/strip powerhouse. The engine was removed and rebuilt, but NO ENGINE COMES WITH THIS SALE. A C4 transmission comes with the car and is believed to be the original. Odometer shows 93,985 which I believe could be accurate, but actual mileage is unknown.
I bought this car with the plan to finish the street/strip build, but spare time is sparse right now and the car deserves better hands to work on it. Many items needed to put this car back on the road are included in the sale. Those items include: grill, some trim, radiator, fan, fan shroud, a/c components, brake booster, master cylinder, p/s pump, C4 transmission, torq converter, transmission cross brace, drive shaft, refinished gas tank, new brake lines still in box, Shelby style side scoops, matching color camper shell, & 3 spare tire rims. I may have missed a couple parts so feel free to ask if you have any questions.
This is a true desert car that has no body rust besides 3 small spots in the floor pan under the passenger seat. Body is straight and in good condition. Driver front fender has some slight damage that was repaired by a body shop before customer paint but the fire flaked off the repairs. There are a few holes in the side where a bump strip was installed by the original owner but these have been welded closed and need ground smooth. Shelby style scoops were added by the next owner behind the doors and can be left for added flair or weld those bolt holes closed too.
Other high performance parts (Q code 485hp engine, upgraded C6 xmission, diff, wheels) are available that fit this car and will be auctioned separately.
