Up for your consideration is this RARE Factory Manual Transmission Ford Econoline that has been resto-modded into a Baja Prerunner Camping Rig. All “new” parts are within the last year!

Van starts up instantly even when the temperature dips below 0 Fahrenheit! Driven regularly, cruises well down the highway at 75mph. I would not hesitate to drive this out to the east coast!

This unique combination of an Industrial 6-cylinder engine and Overdrive Manual Transmission is factory rated at a combined 20mpg! I have been seeing close to 18 with the lift and bigger tires.

BODY:

Being from the dry state of Colorado, this van was spared the rust damage seen on most older vehicles. Only surface rust had to be sandblasted from the body to make way for the beautiful custom paint job. The entire vehicle was epoxy primed, before being shot with an Industrial Single Stage Polyurethane Enamel. If you look closely, the paint has dark gray and white speckles for a truly custom appearance. Some of the original patina (small dents and dings) remain under the paint work, but are only noticeable to the trained eye.

The undercarriage is equally clean, with the floors, frame, and body mounts all being solid. The driver floor pan has been replaced.

All of the doors open and shut smoothly. Locks all work. Windows go up and down smoothly with new seals all around. Lights and gauges all work.

SUSPENSION:

The stock front end was completely removed and new custom components installed to prepare this vehicle for rough offroad travel. The foundation consists of heavy duty i-beams from a newer van that were custom bent for a 3-inch lift by Weldtec Designs. These, combined with custom radius arms and custom valved FOX Shocks make for an extremely capable fire-road cruiser. Every wear item in the front suspension is new as well- greasable ball joints, wheel bearings, brakes rotors, pads, bushings, etc.

ENGINE:

This rig has the legendary Ford 300 cubic inch Inline Six engine; people say this is the most durable gasoline engine ever built. Great torque offroad; will cruise 75 on the highway all day. Engine only has 113k original miles, and starts/runs excellent. Has new carburetor, distributor, coil, plugs, wires, and Flowmaster exhaust. No major a leaks, at most leaves a drip or two under the oil pan.

TRANSMISSION:

This van equipped with a RARE Overdrive Manual Transmission! The transmission was professionally rebuilt last year (paperwork included) and shifts smoothly through all the gears. With the overdrive, highway speeds of around 75mph+ are comfortable.

INTERIOR:

The interior is built to be lightweight, functional in cold climates, and super durable. Fully functional as is; finish up some of the details in-between trips!

Insulation: Spray-It-Green foam applied to walls and ceiling

Structure: The bed and kitchen framed with lightweight yet flexible steel to handle the most demanding offroading conditions. It is designed to flex with the body in offroad situations. The solid pine bed slats are riveted on for durability.

Walls: Lightweight FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic). The edges of the panels are unfinished and could use some trim for a finished appearance. The van is wired for lights, MaxAir roof fan, and solar; these still need to be hooked up.

Kitchen: Includes a quality stainless sink that drains to the underside of the vehicle. Solid Brass faucet not hooked up. The space under the Counter is custom designed for left- Norcold DC compressor refrigerator, center- (2) 20L NATO water Jerry Cans, right- petrol or diesel fired furnace for cold weather camping. (Note the fuel tank has a pickup installed for a Espar gasoline furnace).

Privacy: Insulated divider curtains separate sleeping area. (Side and rear door window curtains not included)

Delivery:

This van is located in picturesque Carbondale Colorado! I am happy to work with an out-of-state buyer; this could mean meeting you at the Aspen Airport with the van to kick off your epic road trip back home, OR working with your U-Ship (or other shipping service of your choosing) driver to coordinate pickup at my location. I have a Clean Colorado Title in my name.
