Selling my 1987 Country Squire LX

81,000 original miles

I’ve recently invested about $2,500 including but not limited to: ignition components, starter, battery, distributor, 4 tires, oil change, wipers, etc

I bought this one because of the interior. It’s amazing. Perfect dash pad, seats are fantastic, wood is shiny, rugs are good. With a good detail, the interior could be a 9 out of 10, it’s that nice

The undercarriage is fine with normal rust but no rot and the frame is good. Dark blue paint is faded on all the upper surfaces. It does buff to a shine in the small area I spot tested, but the car should be painted to be right.

It has rust in the usual lower spots along the car. The hood is pulling away from one hood lift due to rust. There is a random skip in the motor that is not compression related (we tested). Sometimes the starter runs on when the motor is hot. Mechanic suggested ignition switch/module in the column or starter solenoid by the battery. The tailgate door sags, but I have an extra tailgate that comes with the car with good hinges.

I drove the car home (backroads and not above 40mph) from the mechanic about two weeks ago and haven’t driven it since. I don’t know of a good older Ford mechanic to do the final tuning and diag needed to finish the job. I planned on painting it afterwards and having a beautiful low mileage wagon.

I hold the clean MA title. Located in Westport, MA.

Yes, it has the third row seats. Yes, you should absolutely tow it to its next destination.

I have lots of pictures and a video of it driving

Thanks for looking!
