Description:

1930 Ford Model A

You are bidding on a show quality 1930 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan. We restored this car to what a hot rod probably would have looked like in the '30s, and no expense was spared to get it where it looks like new. The engine underwent a complete rebuild by Perry Swanson, a well-known Model A engine rebuilder in Georgia. The rebuild included new everything in the engine to the tune of $3,000. He even plumbed a metal tube to feed oil to the center main bearing. All systems on the car operate like they're supposed to. The differential gears were changed from the original 3.78:1 to 3.27:1 for more economical driving. The interior is Cartouche, a subsidiary of Mac's Model A Parts. The paint is Porsche Guards Red basecoat and clearcoat, followed by color sanding to 3000 grit, then compounded and glazed for the mirror finish you see in the pictures. The car was converted to 12 volt (-) ground and uses an alternator instead of a generator. The starter was converted from 6 volt to 12 volt so there's no chance of it burning out. We have driven the car less than 5 miles since its completion. We built it more as an interesting project because my first car was a Model A Ford that I bought in 1964 and drove to high school my junior year. I thought it would be fun to do another one almost 60 years later. It was fun restoring it, but I prefer power steering in the cars I drive on a regular basis.
If a potential buyer has built up a hot rod chassis and needs a ready-to-go body for it, this car would be perfect for that, because all he'd have to do is remove the body-to-frame bolts and set it on his hot rod. No paint or bodywork required, and no interior work to perform.
This is a NO Reserve auction and whoever bids the highest will be the new owner. I expect the down payment through eBay to be made the same day the auction closes.
