1931 Ford Model A Roadster

1931 Ford Model A Sport Coupe

.For consignment, a 1931 Model A Sport Coupe AKA a sports car from 1931. 2 door with 2 inboard seats and a rumble seat in back outside. Colorful yellow(cream) with black fender accenting and some orange wire wheels on the corners along with the rag style canvas top complete with landau bars on the B pillars, we give you a compact, look of a convertible, sporty example from the early 1930's which was wildly popular.

Exterior
Cream (light yellow) panels in very good condition, with well minded gaps make up this all steel car. A slight scuffing is noted in the paint on the rumble seat exterior panel. Black covers the running boards and fenders Chrome is nearly perfect and covers the radiator surround, front "grille" and headlight casings. A motometer radiator cap is atop the shiny surrounds and frames the cowled hood in tan directly behind it. A small door on either side allows access to this 30's style 2 seat sports car, if you will. A mother in law seat is on the curved rear which also sports a spare tire and wheel completely restored like the other 4 corners in orange colored wire wheels. A canvas hardtop top in beige and nearly showroom is on top to protect the cabin passengers. A 6-volt system with quartz head lighting can be driven easily at night.

Interior
A brown and cream tweed pattern broadcloth bench stretches from similar pattern tweed door panel to door panel. Nearly new looking it will accommodate 3 if needed but it will be tight. A super simple dash with chromed "mask style" instrument cluster, shows no rust, and is functional. The dash top is all steel and black, and the dash front is the exterior matching cream. An original steering wheel with spark advance lever and throttle/idle lever attached to the column is fronting the cream painted metal dash. The rumble seat, utilizing brown tuck and roll vinyl is protecting itself from the elements and is accessible with a turn and pull of the winged chromed lever. The rear window of this car can be lowered to have a conversation with the rumble seat passengers.

Drivetrain
A flat 201ci 4-cylinder engine all gussied up and fully operational sits in the engine bay, and is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission, and fed by a 1-barrel carburetor. The tail end of the driveline shows up a rear axle with 3.78 gearing. All is looking very nice and has a clean original configuration under this cowl.

Undercarriage
Structural integrity, and a good frame rust free is noted underneath. Floorpans, and rockers, and running board supports are sturdy. All is looking good including the transverse leaf springs on all 4 corners and the mechanical drums, which do stop but you'll need to plan ahead!

Drive-Ability
Drives like its new and has surprising acceleration and smooth steering and suspension. All functions are working as they should, and it was a pleasant nostalgic drive.

With its short wheelbase, rag styled hardtop, 2 seats with rumble seat, and snappy exterior panels in cream, I have dreams of rolling down the back road kicking up dirt, hooting and hollering having a great time in the open air, laughing with the rumble seat passengers. Why not get in on this?
