1951 Ford Crown Victoria Crown Victoria

This listing is for a 1951 Ford Victoria project that has been stalled here at Steve’s Auto Restorations by a client for personal reasons. The car is offered “as is.” The project was started with a complete 1951 Victoria with a clean Oregon title that is transferable. The concept was developed to customize it by changing and upgrading a wide variety of aspects on the car. There have been a series of renderings made for the car suggesting several different color combinations that could be used on the car. Another car, a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria, was purchased as a donor for the Crown Vic roof and Crown Vic seats and other interior components. The roof maintains it’s stock height dimensions. The car has a new Flaming River steering column. A 1954 dash is partially installed as well as a new Vintage Air heater and A/C unit. Power windows were being installed at the time the project was stopped. The roof was cut off the ’56 and welded onto the ’51 body and a '53 windshield completes that part of the package. It sits on a new Morrison chassis with coil overs and a Ford 9” rear geared at 3:50. It rolls on new “Schott Velocity” wheels, 17-8 front (245-45-17), 18-9 rear (275-45-18) with new Continental tires mounted and balanced. There are Wildwood disc brakes on all 4 corners, power steering and power brakes. There is a new Spal cooling fan and a new aluminum radiator installed in the car. There is a new gas tank mounted but no sending unit yet. Installed into the frame is a new Boss 302 crate motor.Body work has been started and a lot of the fill work has been done with lead. The headlight areas have been altered from stock and leaded in and filed. The intent was to use the stock tail lights. The bumpers have been modified and tucked in close to the body for a cleaner appearance. The following items have NOT been ordered or obtained yet. Rear window, wiring harness, custom gauges and switches, steering wheel, battery, weather-stripping, paint materials, upholstery materials, and miscellaneous other parts. This car is offered on an auction basis. It will not be sold for anything less thana very modest reserve. There is a considerably more money in this car than the reserve. The car has not been started or driven yet.
