1969 Mustang Mach 1 428SCJ - R Code, 4 Speed with Desirable Options, Tilt, FD.
1969 Ford Mustang
1969 Mustang Mach 1 428 Super Cobrajet
Real 428 SCJ Project Car
The Story (every Mustang has one):
This car had not seen the light of day in 41 years. In 1979, the owner was in the process of starting a mechanical refresh. He removed the motor and transmission and sent them to a machine shop (the family believes). Unfortunately, the owner passed away at the same time and the whereabouts of the running gear went with him. The family never followed up with any machine shops, but they assume where the engine and trans went.
The Good:
This is a real 1969 Super Cobrajet Mustang Mach 1 (1 of 3,388) with wrapped shock towers, staggered shocks and correct rear end. This car also has a very unique option (especially for an SCJ), a tilt away steering wheel. It also has fold down rear seat, 8,000 RPM tach dash; the interior is original and in good shape. The car is also Silver Jade, which is a great color (IMO). Also included is original shaker hood and newer hood with non shaker hood scoop.
The Bad / Ugly:
This 51-year-old Ohio car, looks like an Ohio car and is RUSTY. It will need, floors, torque boxes, frame rails (not all), quarters, drop downs and tail light panel. I believe in being honest. As stated, running gear is long gone.
