Description:
1965 Ford Mustang
1965 Mustang Convertible "C" code "76 B" Deluxe (Pony Interior) Car. I am sorry I deleted my previous auction....when I set up the auction I failed to protect myself with a reserve price for the auction. Again, I apologize.THEY ARE ONLY ORIGINAL ONE TIME...I have owned this unrestored 1965 Mustang "C" code 289 automatic convertible for 31 years. The car was built in "R" San Jose California June 11,1965. The car was then shipped to DSO "72" which also was San Jose California. The car never (as far as I know) was used in a salt state and is the main reason for it's condition today. This is a "76B" body code which is a convertible with deluxe "Pony" interior. The interior is all original complete with a few tears and seams split and restitched corners. I did put a new carpet set in it about 5 years ago. They only built 5,338 "76B" cars including 6 cylinder cars and V8 cars. The 289 engine to my knowledge has never been taken out or rebuilt. The engine runs smooth and cranks right up. I believe the mielage showing is original to the car, however with the age of the car I have no actual way of knowing for sure. We have driven it in parades and Sunday afternoons within a 30 mile radius of our home. This car is the most solid rust free early Mustang that I have ever seen. The factory rear quarter panel rubber drain plugs are in place and all original metal in the trunk and drop offs. When I bought the car in 1989 it had been repainted approximately 4 years prior to me buying it. The factory color code "F" was Arcadian Blue. When the previous owner had it painted around 1985 they elected to have it sprayed Caspian Blue, another factory Mustang color. However, they did not spray the inside of the trunk, and as you can see in my pictures, the Arcadian Blue painted original metal is all there and also in the floors. I did replace the two rear floors (undectectable...I am just being honest) and resprayed the Arcadian Blue on the floor boards. I also installed a new gas tank and fuel level sending unit, new brakes (original dated brake drums on the car), new wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, new fuel pump, rebuilt the original carburetor, new radiator, new alternator, new ignition switch. It does need a new exhaust pipe and muffler. The car will need some TLC to be the "perfect" car......but I must say you will not find a more solid original un restored 1965 Mustang Convertible. This car has factory power steering (replaced both hydraulic lines on the slave cylinder and installed a new dust boot) and "Cruise-a Matic automatic transmission (new pump seal, tailhousing seal, filter and pan gasket)......factory MANUAL top. The top has a tear in it as well as a clouded rear vinyl window just like the day I bought it 31 years ago. Again, I have owned it since 1989 and have decided to thin down some on my cars. No warranties stated, implied or otherwise. It is a 55 year old car that will need a little loving to be perfect.......this could include interior, convertible top, paint, engine work....just stating facts. If paying with cashiers check, car will not leave for 7 days until check clears my bank. wire transfers via my bank should be acceptable, would need bank verification prior to confiming. If payment is cash we will also go to my bank to let them deposit and verify the authenticity of the bills. No matter how payment is made.....car will not leave my possession before payment is cleared and confirmed with my bank. Shipping is sole reponsibility of buyer.....the arrangements and payment will be the buyer reponsibility. If being shipped to buyer, I the seller will need a minimum of 3 days prior knowledge before scheduled pick up. Please ask any and all questions you feel pertinent and I will do my best to answer them to the best of my ability. I can also take any pictures you should desire and share them with you.Thank You for looking at my car.Vehicle Details:
