Restoration Special. 1977 2WD Ford F250 Ranger - $6000.00 OBO.
My father bought this truck new in 1977, beefed up the suspension with extra springs and heavy duty shocks and used it as his shop truck until 1997 when he bought a new truck.
He kept it as his back up vehicle until 15 years ago then gave it to me. It has a 460 big block engine, 3 speed automatic transmission, 8 foot bed, and 263348. original miles.
I had the engine completely rebuilt about 20K miles ago and the transmission completely rebuilt about 15K miles ago.The front end has also been rebuilt and the power steering unit, starter, shocks, springs, and windshield have been replaced.
The body is in good condition with a little rust in the wheel wells but no hail damage or major dings, dents, or scrapes and the interior is in very good condition. The original AM radio is still in it and works.
My father and brother built the heavy duty front bumper and the tow bar and there is an auxiliary fuel tank that goes with it. The camper shell is pretty worn though it could be rebuilt.
It’s not perfect and needs some minor work but it runs good. I’m going to be picky about who I'll sell it to and prefer that it ends up with someone that wants to do a restoration. More pics available on request.
