DESCRIPTION:

Documented 23,000 original mile 2-owner Ford Thunderbird with numbers matching 390 cu. in. 300 h.p. FE engine and cruise-o-matic transmission. Second owner purchased the car in 1986 with the plans to totally restore the car but couldn’t complete it. Some of the options include: Power steering; Power brakes (drum), ‘swing-a-way’ steering column, AM/FM radio, (which does not work, just static). The T-Bird starts and runs great, most of the electrical works except for the temperature gauge, gas gauge (needs a new float) emergency brake release (vacuum operated), inside courtesy lights and clock. New tires and battery were added within the past year.

Engine & transmission

Engine was not rebuilt, but has had a tune-up, rebuilt carburetor, filters, hoses, belts, points, and condenser. Small leak at oil pan plug. Transmission has not been serviced but shifts fine.

Body & Paint

Because the car appears to have been garage kept the body and floors are solid and not holes. The T-Bird was repainted approximately 10 years ago in the original Vintage Burgundy enamel. Scratches from trash cans rubbing on left rear quarter (photos). Right rear quarter panel was replaced at that time. Exterior chrome has some scratches, but no pitting and all of the glass appears to be in good original condition. Still has original jack, trunk mats, and trunk insulation.

Interior

All original vinyl interior including the carpeting, dash pad and center console. All chrome including the window crank handles are original. Weather stripping is original too.
