1951 Ford Custom Tudor Sedan

If you are looking for a really cool '50s retro hot rod, look no further. Built in 1991-92, this car is still in outstanding shape. This is the true definition of "Old School Hot Rod".The stance is thanks to Curt's idea to update the undercarriage by getting it lower without affecting the cars ride and handling. He installed a Mustang II subframe kit from Fat Man Fabrications.

This video was filmed on March 4th.

In December of 1993, just after the Ford was completed, Rod and Custom did this article about it. It was the high school dream of Curt Schroeder. Curt's dream was to build a car that looked like the great hot rods of the 50s, 40 years later. You can see hesucceeded

To view a second video of this great car done in 2017 for the owner by samspace81, just go to You Tube and search for 1951 Ford Tudor Sedan. It's a great video and you will see there was no change in this car in 3 years.
The interior sports Stock seats with 1" traditional Naugahyde pleats.

The Naugahyde interior is still in great condition. There is this one small flaw on the front seat on the drivers side.

The louvered hood is definitely a '50s thing.

The engine compartment is still in great condition with just some chips on the firewall and a few other spots.

The undercarriage is really amazing. When you consider this car was built in 1991, the condition of this undercarriage is great.

The only thing we can see that was changed since the car was originally built are the hub caps. Somewhere along the way, someone put the Baby Moons and beauty rings on instead of the Cadillac hub caps that appear in the Rod and Custom article.

The pin striping looks like it was done yesterday. There is no chipping or fading.

The current owner in 2017, took the George Barris award at the Dallas Autorama. This was a very prestigious award. George Barris always picked a car that was driven to the show and was not a trailer queen. This car is a great driver and shows the little stone chips to prove it.
