GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this striking 1946 Ford Coupe Hot Rod! This iconic muscle machine comes in an eye catching red rock crystal pearl paint job complemented by a clean tan interior with red accents. Powering this road rocket is a built 408 cubic inch V8 motor mated to a stout 4 speed automatic transmission and a 9 inch rear end. Features of the Ford include power steering, 4 wheel power disc brakes, functioning heat, A/C and more. This vehicle comes to us from a private automotive collector and hot rod builder. As such the vehicle has always been properly maintained and stored. So, if you're in the market for an aggressive hot rod that owns the road, look no further than this impressive Ford Coupe!
The Ford car was thoroughly updated in 1941, in preparation for a time of unpredictability surrounding World War II. The 1941 design would continue in an aborted 1942 model year and would be restarted in 1946 and produced until 1948 when the more modern 1949 Fords were ready. Civilian production resumed in July 1945, with an early start to the 1946 model year filling the public's thirst for new cars. The 1946 Ford was identical to the 1942 model under the skin, though a heavy new grille with horizontal bars and red accents modernized the car somewhat. The hood was widened by adding a center strip. One notable change was to use the 239 CID engine which since 1939 had been used in Mercurys and trucks, and capable of 100 hp for the first time.
