1979 Ford F-150 4x4 SWB. Rare special order DSO (district sales office). 351 V-8. Power disc brakes, tilt wheel, power steering, cruise control, C-6 automatic transmission, dual tanks, Traction-Lok 3.50 axle, rare high back bench seat. 91,800 fully documented original miles. I know the complete history of this truck. Two owners. Rust free Easter Oregon truck since new. Always serviced and repaired at the Ford dealership. Meticulous maintenance history. Repair and maintenance records from 1980 to present. The truck has a unique history which is fully documented by the original sales contract, complete records dating back to when the truck was purchased new, and the Marti Report.
This truck was purchased new by Land Mark Ford in Tigard Oregon. Land Mark Ford special ordered the truck through the DSO (district sales office) which is also reflected on the Marti Report and original sales contract. The truck was used by the dealership for promotional purposes as well as a dealer demo truck. The truck was then sold to the original owner Gerald Young of La Grande Oregon on June 7th 1980 with 10,004 miles for $7668.00. Original ownership was from June 1980 to March 2009. This truck was sold to the original owner with 10,004 miles as a company demonstration truck of Landmark ford in Tigard Oregon Second owner, a good friend of mine, owned the truck from March 2009 to 2019. The truck has resided its entire life in dry Eastern Oregon by both the original and second owner. Subsequently the truck is 100% rust free and has never had any rust to speak of. On July of 1991, with 57,608 miles, the truck received a fully rebuilt motor by Tamarack Ford in La Grande Oregon (receipts included). The truck still retains its original yellow Oregon license plates.Included with the sale is well over 100+ pages of receipts for every repair the truck has had from 1980 to 2019. The mileage is original (92,000) and is fully documented by the repair and maintenance receipts.

This truck was a special DSO order that went to Bivouac Industries of Vandalia, MI. Bivouac was a conversion and customizing company that went out of business in 1990. I am thinking that high-back seat w/ fold down arm rest and headliner were done there. There is a door sticker pictured from 11/14/1978 from Bivouac Industries were the truck was sent. The Marti report states this truck as a special order recreational vehicle pool DSO (district sales office). From all the research and supporting facts, this was a special order vehicle ordered by the dealership. The original sales agreement (see picture) states that the truck was a dealer demo truck. I have owned many dent side ford trucks and have never seen a high back bench seat with a fold down arm rest. Does it make the truck very rare and unique? I would say yes…

MOTOR- Dealer installed replacement motor (see receipt in picture link). 34,200 miles on the motor. I recently had the stock 2-V carb professionally rebuilt. New Radiator, battery, fuel pump, dual exhaust, fuel lines, vacuum lines. The C-6 transmission shifts perfectly, the motor runs excellent.

BRAKES, SUSPENSION, AXLE- Factory ordered with power steering, power disc brake, and stabilizer bars. All of the bushings associated with the front end have been replaced. I recently had a new steering dampener and center/drag link installed as well as a alignment. New front and rear gas shocks, front and rear brakes, front and rear brake lines, track bar bushings, radius arm bushings. The steering box has been rebuilt, repacked front wheel bearings, fresh rear end gear oil. The brakes are good and the steering is tight. The truck was ordered with a Traction-Lok rear axle w/ a 3.50 gear ratio, which is perfect for every day and highway driving.

PAINT & BODY- The truck is 100% rust free, never has had any rust, ever.. The truck has resided in dry Eastern Oregon form new and has been well cared for, gently used, and garaged most of its life. The truck received one very high quality repaint in its original color of Dark Brown Metallic (Ford #5477-A). The color is really vibrant when the sun hits the root beer brown metallic paint. The grill, belt line trim, and window rubber have been replaced. The truck also has a nice tinted rear sliding window.

INTERIOR- The interior of the truck is in excellent condition. Some mild custom touches by Bivoc Industries include; reupholstered seat, custom vinyl head liner and matching panel behind the bench seat, rare high back bench seat with fold down center arm rest. The Marti Report states it has a custom bench seat. I have never seen this type of seat in a 1979 before. The original dash is in good condition with no cracks. The carpet is in excellent condition

WHEELS & TIRES- I recently had the stock wheels powder coated to the original color of Wimbledon White. I also sourced a set of original new old stock 1/2 ton 4x4 hub caps which finished off the factory look. The 33 10.50 15 BF Goodrich All Terrain K/O 2's are brand new with less than 100 miles on them.

OTHER- Included with the sale is a Marti Report, original license plates, the original sales contract from Land Mark Ford, original owners manual, over 100+ pages of receipts dating back to 1980. The extensive records along side the previous owners records fully document the mileage to be original. New heater core and related hoses.

The truck runs, drives, and looks like a new truck. The truck has been to several car shows and received trophies. The truck is very reliable and needs nothing. Its getting hard to find these early low mile original Ford SWB 4x4's in this kind of pristine condition. I am regretfully selling my beloved Ford to help fund a restoration on another vehicle.
