1972 Ford F-250
1972 Ford F-250 4X4 3/4 TON PICKUP TRUCKClean old ford pickup. This truck has very little rust. It needs paint but is a great candidate for restoration. It runs and drives and I have a clear title. These old bumpside pickups look great restored and there are lots of restoration parts available from several companies. I know the original owner of the truck. It was originally a 2wd, and then later the body was set on a highboy drivetrain of the same year. Below are all the details on the truck. Thanks.
MECHANICAL
This has a 300 inline six cylinder. It runs ok but smokes when cold. It doesn't knock or rattle or anything abnormal. The transmission, clutch, and transfer case work as they should. This has the divorced transfer case. It has drum power brakes, no power steering. I have only driven the truck on the highway once and it drove ok. It needs new tires. I have stock steel wheels that can go on it instead if prefer to do an original look. I haven't driven it with these tires on them but they're old. I would do a full tuneup on it if your planning to run it as-is. I know many people will do a v8 or diesel swap so you may not care about the engine. The brakes work fine but I haven't checked them out thoroughly. The lights, heater, wipers, etc.. work. I think the radio even works. This has a closed knuckle front-end. Divorced transfer case. The truck runs quiet. It starts up every time, even when cold.
BODY
The body is in nice shape overall. The cab is very clean for an unrestored '72. The cab mounts and floor supports are fine. The drivers side has minor floorpan rust. It doesn't need fixed but it would if your doing a nice restoration. One rear cab corner has minor rust. It comes with the patch panel. You can't see it unless you get under it and look. It wouldn't need to be fixed either. The doors, hood, and tailgate open/close as they should. The box is pretty straight and rust free. The truck has been painted once, in the original color. There is light filler in a couple spots. No heavy filler and I've checked the whole truck with a paint thickness meter. The passenger door and front fender were changed in preparation for the paint work. The pictures pretty much tell the story.
This is a great truck to start with for a restoration and affordably priced. It has a clear title that matches the original door tag. This truck is used and 47 years old, sold as-is. Thanks.
