1965 Ford Mustang GT - RARE Silver Smoke Gray Paint on Red - Beautiful Colors
1965 Ford Mustang GT
Beautiful GT. Factory optioned. NOT a clone. Extremely rare- very few of all 64.5/65 Mustangs were Silversmoke Grey. Add to that that this has the GT package, and this is a rare pony indeed. Silversmoke Grey on red interior is a striking, unusual color combination. It is my favorite by far.
Includes disc brakes, dual exhaust, etc, etc. All GT options, including the reinforcement plates for the dual exhaust which are visible when removing the rear seat bottom.
I absolutely love this car, but it's time to let it go. I will miss it very much after it's gone. It's truly special. I've personally owned nearly 30 Mustangs in my life, and this has been my favorite.
Wen-Mac GT Mustang that's been painted silver is included!
This Mustang was restored in the mid 1990s and driven very little after that. It sold at Mecum in the mid 1990s for $25,000. It was kept in a garage along with many other classics as part of a large classic car collection. I've owned it a little more than a year. I believe it's about 90K original miles.

Features:
- NEW dual red line radial tires. Very expensive.
- Styled steel GT wheels, including a spare
- Aftermarket rally pac with Dolphin brand gauges. Not hooked up, but all new.
- Long tube headers
- Edelbrock 4V carb
- New coil
- New solenoid
- New grille
- Newer console
- Wood grain Shelby style steering wheel
- Factory air conditioning (blows, but not very cold)
- It has also had suspension work done and has a very nices tance.
Mechanics:
- Runs, drives, accelerates, brakes very well! Engine rumbles and breathes well through the long tube headers and dual exhaust.
- Some rattles in the suspension when going over bumps, but nothing out of the ordinary for an older car. One of the wheel caps is loose and also rattles.
Paint/Body:
- Very shiny paint. It was a great paint job when it was painted back in the 1990s. Looks to be correct Silver Smoke Grey to me. Some flaws in the paint after 20+ years including a bit of paint that's come off below the gas cap, but nothing noticeable until very close inspection. Body lines are good. Doors close well. It's an excellent driver car in my opinion.
- Underneath looks very good to me. Some very minor rust that I noticed. Nothing that I think warrants any metal replacement.
Interior:
Very nice! Bright red interior. Excellent dash. Glove box is new, but needs to be re-installed. Doesn't open and close properly. Has a cassette player, but the cassette part doesn't work. Radio works fine. Speakers are installed under the seats. Factory AC unit is in place!
